As a rule I don't have a sweet tooth but for some strange reason, I blame the virus, I bought one of the pesky orange-shaped blobs, which are made with real orange oil.

I'm about to eat the last 2 segments and have only just idly checked the calorie count! shock

Tomorrow's walk is gonna have to be a long one!

Not for me thanks as I don’t have a sweet tooth. DH however has these at the top of his favourites list?. His idea of rationing is to take a segment, wrap what remains, take a segment etc; until he has eaten the lot!

living in a one-horse town in New Mexico

No! shock I too lived in a one-horse town in NM - only for four months though.

I was in Truth or Consequences smile

Oh no GagaJo those Cadburys Cream Eggs sorry to say make me want to "puke" that awful sickly inside mess is terrible.

Don't get me wrong I love chocolate, a normal Cadburys Easter egg with perhaps chocolate buttons left to get cold in the fridge I will eat it. I do like the dark chocolate with the high cocoa bean content more expensive but tastes lovely.

I wonder how those eggs made their way to New Mexico, hopefully someone might ship them all over there we could have a Cadburys Crème free U.K

A friend gave me a bag of chocolate orange segments for Christmas and I recovered them from a cupboard at the weekend ...I finished the whole bag over two days. Delish !! Although hoopla hoop is now constantly getting used!
Ohh it was worth it though!

Ooo 3nanny6, I used to love Cadbury’s Cream Eggs. Even 35 years ago, living in a one-horse town in New Mexico, when I found them in a strange hardware type shop (bought the whole box).

Wouldn’t touch them now. The chocolate is horrible since Cadbury was sold to Hershey.

moggie57 Tue 31-Mar-20 13:29:45

yes and they taste disgusting . never again.

Hazeld Tue 31-Mar-20 13:09:23

@Grannyben. Yes I love that too. A bit like a mini flake. I could eat a whole one to myself any time. Love them.

Joesoap Tue 31-Mar-20 13:01:12

I LOVE them but unfortunately or maybe not, we dont have them in this country, but when I get to the UK i eat as many as I can, but not a whole one at a time.Christmas is the time for eating them I think, but in this crisis, any time is a good time!

pamdixon Tue 31-Mar-20 12:41:16

I want one now!! We've been self-isolating for 2 weeks. Can I ask one of the nice people who are doing our shopping for us to get me one without looking tooooo naughty. It is surely an 'essential' item if you love them!

3nanny6 Tue 31-Mar-20 12:39:55

I eat a few pieces and it made me feel sick as too orangey sweet, feel the same about the Cadburys Crème eggs so sweet and sickly.

Riverwalk Tue 31-Mar-20 12:27:56

I walked for 70 minutes - so only burnt-off about a quarter of the little cannonball!

My own fault - bought on impulse and scoffed with abandon.

grannybuy Tue 31-Mar-20 12:15:49

Try making Nigella's clementine cake, and fill/top with buttercream made with chocolate orange.

Wheniwasyourage Tue 31-Mar-20 12:13:36

Shouldn't have read this thread. Now I want one and am also wondering what to do with the Easter eggs...

glammanana Tue 31-Mar-20 12:13:23

My now grown up children insist on there being one in their xmas boxes every year have done since they where young one year I suggested that they where too old for them and it caused massive upset with the 3 of them, they also have the little woven bag of golden money every year.

Dowsabella Tue 31-Mar-20 12:10:19

@BlueBelle, I'm with you! I couldn't even eat one segment!! DH gets any I'm given. He's diabetic, so he has to make them last a looooooong time, but he's ok with that.

Cambia Tue 31-Mar-20 12:05:30

I had never had one until someone bought me one for Xmas. Gosh it was so nice! I am not a sweet tooth but I did enjoy it. Well half of it, after rationing myself to a slice a day, my grandson gave into temptation and polished the rest of it off whilst I wasn’t looking!

Barmeyoldbat Tue 31-Mar-20 12:02:25

I can eat a whole box of Black Magi but not an Orange egg ass I don't like them

Kim19 Tue 31-Mar-20 11:59:09

Nope. Tried them but certainly didn't float my boat. I'm currently struggling with over consumption of dark chocolate ginger snaps. Amazingly moreish!

GagaJo Tue 31-Mar-20 11:58:08

Funny story. When my now adult daughter was young, someone gave her a LARGE easter egg sized chocolate orange at Christmas. It wasn't solid, but the chocolate WAS a lot thicker than the average easter egg.

I went out for the night with friends, leaving my mum at mine, babysitting. When I got home, I found a very disgruntled mum. Daughter had eaten the whole thing and obviously, had vomited everywhere. The house stunk of orange chocolate for weeks afterwards.

My mum was annoyed with my daughter. I don't know why really. What adult allows an 8 year old to eat that much chocolate in one go?

JanT8 Tue 31-Mar-20 11:57:46

Riverwalk I know exactly where you’re coming from on this! Last week I was desperate for chocolate, which I never usually bother with. My daughter bought me a large bar of Cadbury’s Whole Nut and I did the same, devoured it at one sitting !!
Thank goodness I don’t have any more in stock !!

Gaunt47 Tue 31-Mar-20 11:54:46

Just this minute ordered some bars of exceptionally good chocolate made locally with high cocoa content! Paid extra for first class postage!

timetogo2016 Tue 31-Mar-20 11:53:44

OOOOH i love them and dunk them in a cup of tea.
I don`t like hard chocolate and it actualy tastes nicer.
Never feel guilty especialy at times like these.
Happy chocky chomping all.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 31-Mar-20 11:51:45

Regularly but not recently

EllanVannin Tue 31-Mar-20 11:51:32

Chocolate isn't what it used to be with much of it being manufactured by different companies. Decent chocolate is now difficult to find. I used to be a great chocolate lover but not any more and I've still got stuff here from Christmas which will end up in my favourite place----the bin.
