In my youth I was often likened to Sarah Ferguson, but with dark brown hair. I also had/have some of her personality traits - the good ones I'm sure. wink. When I look in the mirror I believe I can see the resemblance.

So who have you been likened to and do you agree?

In the late 80’s, a friend’s husband said I looked like Sharon Maughan (wife of Trevor Eve) and remembered for the Nescafé Gold Blend TV ad with Anthony Head. Sure I never looked that glamorous! ?

I looked like Pam Ayres, the poet. Often asks for autographs - no selfies in those days!

When I was younger I was likened to Felicity Kendal when the Good Life was on TV. In recent years someone said I looked like my mam which is a privilege as she looked gorgeous until dementia set in when she was 90 years old. She had beautiful skin and her hair was platinum blonde. In her youth she could have been another Marilyn Monroe as she was gorgeous. I have a photo by my computer of her when she was aged 62 years and she looked lovely then.

Very flattered to have been likened to Helen Mirren! Happy with that!

When we were both younger, Julia McKenzie. Not now though. In London I was often asked for my autograph?

About 40 years ago was told I looked like Penelope Keith. Now I look similar to my father and sound like my mother. ?

My sister looks very like our paternal granny and, bizarrely, I look like her sister, our aunty Dolly.

Ive been told a few times that I look like Brenda Blethyn but I cant see it at all.

When I was young, Rita Tushingham. Now my kids say Judi Dench.

I have been told I look like Alison Steadman, and also Fern Britton. I can’t see it at all. They both have lovely cheekbones - I don’t! Both are slimmer than me too!

My lovely SIL says I look like Wendolene from A Close Shave (Wallace & Gromit)! When I was younger I was told I looked like Maria Schneider From Last Tango in Paris, which was nice as she was very pretty.

In my teens and twenties several people said I looked like Princess Margaret. Two or three have said I'm like Wendy Craig, not so much in looks but in mannerisms.

SueLindsey Sat 27-Jun-20 10:43:15

As a teenager I was told I looked like Bob Dylan!!
I was trying to look like Sandy Shaw

Me too , no disrespect to mother, but when I had the funds I invested in cosmetic surgery which boosted my morale and gave me confidence where both business and social life were concerned. Never regretted it.

I have been told I look like JamieLee Curtis ,Noelle Gordon ( the eyes and short hair) , Ruby Wax ... so I must be a mixture of all 3 smile

I’ve been told several times by complete strangers I look like Bonnie Langford! In the past I’ve been told I look like Kate Bush and Mary Steenbergen, she’s married to Ted Danson.

Nannyknee Sat 27-Jun-20 10:40:31

I used to look like Sandy Shaw

I went in to a rather grand London Chinese restaurant once, many years ago, and there was such a flurry of waiter activity that I asked my partner what was going on. Apparently all the staff were in a flutter because they thought I was Wendy Craig!

When I was young I was mistaken for Lucy Skeeping from Play School. I used to be constantly asked for my autograph, especially by children. Parents used to get cross with me when I said I wasn't her and I'm sure I must have got her a bad name ?. I showed my niece recently a photo of her in a group of Playschool presenters and she was convinced it was me and thought I had doctored the photo and put myself in.

I’m apparently like my Paternal grand mother (who nobody liked!) but DH is a dead ringer for Jeremy Corbyn!

olliebeak Sat 27-Jun-20 10:35:46

As a young child, I very rarely met my grandmother on my mum's side. I was taken to see her at Christmas 1962 - aged 11 - and her opening comment was "You look just like Libby Morris!"

Don't get me wrong, Libby Morris was a VERY talented and extremely funny woman - but, as an 11 year old, you DO NOT need to be told that you look like her shocksad.

For those who don't remember her - this is Libby Morris

Callistemon Sat 27-Jun-20 10:34:51

When I was young I was told I looked like Princess Alexandra, when in fact I was trying my hardest to look like Cathy McGowan.
I didn't know whether to be flattered on not as she's much taller than me but older too!

Annitona Sat 27-Jun-20 10:34:45

This is certainly true when you get old:"Mirror, mirror on the wall, I do look like my mother after all!"

Theoddbird Sat 27-Jun-20 10:34:19

Me smile
