Perimenopause camps?

Do any of you lovely ladies remember if it is normal to have increased cramping before menopause?
I’m 48 and it seems I have frequent, low grade period type cramps- worse at ovulation and during period but in between too.
I had a scan and with the exception of a fibroid all was normal.
It’s worse on the right side.
I’d feel a lot better if I knew this is just a stage to pass through as opposed to anything serious...
Any thoughts appreciated.

Worse than ever cramps and flooding made the last few years of periods a nightmare for me.

I think it's quite common to experience these problems, although the fibroid may also be the cause. I would see the doctor again about it.

It's wonderful when the periods finally stop, though, so something to look forward to!

How long ago was your scan Mom2four ?
I would advise going back to the doctor as it could be down to many things.
