For me though, I don't think having a posh voice makes speaking to people that way acceptable or funny.

She doesn't sound posh to me.

I think it's just really hard to hide who you are in those programmes. I can only think of a couple of people who have managed it.

It's not acceptable and that's why I don't like reality TV programmes on the whole. There is always a baddie who is obvious encouraged to make outrageous comments - think Miriam Margolyes on Marigold Hotel.

That was just a small example of her behaviour.
I wonder if someone like Katie Price spoke to people like that if it would still be seen as acceptable.

She has a sharp tongue, didn’t try to come over sweet as honey
as many do in that programme and considering what she went
through in her early life she may have learned much from a young age , we don’t know what ridicule and snide comments
she endured.

Did you mean me, merlot? Yes, I did finish the book. Enjoyed it, actually! Lady C does say H is not as bright as M but she also has some very harsh things to say about M. Worth a read if you have an idle moment.
