I am travelling to Poland in September and would like to take an inexpensive, lightweight gift for my friend's 11 year old daughter! Probably something very 'English' would be good, but I can't think of anything! Advice very much appreciated!

11 is one of those tricky ages imo! Not quite into makeup and all the teenage stuff, but too old for traditional “toys”.

My go to with tweens is normally clothes - I‘d get a couple of tops from new look, or if they’re into sports get a football/basketball or whatever shirt.

Good luck and enjoy your visit.

A notebook with a Union Jack cover? A money box in the shape of a double decker bus?

Sorry, not much help!

Maybe some not too expensive jewelry? Something silver perhaps? If not quite right now, may be appreciated later.

My 10 year old granddaughter is very into makeup, hair stuff, earrings, perfume, stationery stuff, keep fit clothes (hoodies etc) - no limits as we had as teenagers.

If you type 'gifts for 11 year olds girls' on Amazon website, you may get some ideas

There’s not much suitable for an 11 year old that’s “English” is there? Maybe go to paperchase or Scribblers - get a backpack, or pencil case. You’ll probably find it’s made in China though.

Thank you so much for your answers! It is a difficult age but you've come up with some great ideas!

A book? Assume she is learning English at school.

Thanks to social media, anything that's trendy among tweenies in UK will also be trendy in Poland. Ask a British girl of the same age and you will get some appropriate ideas.

A book, maybe one of David Walliams as his books are lighthearted and an easy read.

Maybe a collectible coin from Royal Mint , they do lovely coins with the Queen or Royal Family on them . Or maybe a silver charm depicting the Tower of London or some British landmark ?

Jewelry is the way to a girl's heart. my granddaughter loves charm bracelets. So her mother bought her a charm bracelet from James Avery and every holiday she gets a new charm.wink
