Improving with age

This may seem a bit light-weight, but I was wondering who you think has improved with age, looks-wise? Male or female. For me, I’d have to say Gary Barlow. He’s now 50 and although he’s always been good-looking, I think he looks even better at 50. He was on the Graham Norton tv show a few weeks ago, and I was impressed with his personality and sense of humour too, but I couldn’t also help thinking that he’s ageing very well. Still young really - at 50 (and young enough to be my son!).

Goldie has definitely had something. Not sure I would agree that it was helpful.?

Now, who am I thinking of.
Maybe jaclyn smith or Lynda Gray.
One or both of them look fabulous.

I'm afraid though, that I'm starting to find the natural ageing signs as meaning someone hasn't worn well.
At the same time, I despise that way of thinking.

Oh I didn’t realise David Cassidy had died ?

Esther Rantzen has grown old gracefully - how do all these showbiz people stay so slim ?

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 19:18:26

Oh blimmimg heck!
I'm a bit worried now.
I hope my head hasn't made it up.
It would explain why I find it so surprising though. shock

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 19:19:44

Oh yes.
I watched Esther just the other night, and thought how ageing has suited her.

Chewbacca

Pierce Brosnan just gets better and better with age

I have to agree, Chewy!

My research threw up this photo...... what a shame!

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 19:25:51

Oh, Jennifer Saunders is a beautiful woman now, I think.
Julie Walters, too. smile

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 19:27:10

Very much like poor Lesley Ash. (Is that the right spelling?)

Whingingmom Fri 26-Feb-21 19:27:23

I wonder how many men who have “aged well” have had subtle cosmetic surgery (nothing against that) but stop before it is noticeable? There are some of both sexes who go too far and it makes them look older rather than youthful.
I think Sheila Hancock, Julie Walters, Emma Thompson, Judy Dench all look very elegant by not trying to recreate their youth.

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 19:30:38

How about joanna lumley?
I can't remember the last time I saw her, but lots admire her.
She doesn't appeal to me much. I'm sure she will be heartbroken to know that.

Julie Walters was on BBC4 last night in conversation with Richard E Grant. Of the two, I thought she was wearing much the better. Good bone structure and a spikey hairdo. It was a recording made two or three years ago.

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 19:34:58

She has had cancer, too, but she just looks more lovely, the older she gets.

Gannygangan Fri 26-Feb-21 19:38:22

George Clooney!

Heavens above, I was watching a Graham Norton show and we got to see a photo of the 15 year old George.

You could have knocked me down with a feather.

grandmajet Fri 26-Feb-21 19:44:08

Martin Shaw gets better and better.

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 20:10:50

Oh, Martin Kemp. I think that's him.
He is a very foxy silver fox, but he left me cold until recently.

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 20:28:02

Sorry, filling up the thread, but I had to mention prince Charles.
He has improved.

crazyH Fri 26-Feb-21 20:29:46

I agree about Prince Charles ..

Kalu Fri 26-Feb-21 20:31:43

Yes to Martin Kemp now, with age, he is worth a second glance. No interest when he was younger.

As cosmetic surgery is almost like a visit to the dentist for so many celebs., I am beginning to scrutinise the men as well as the women of my age, often in disbelief when their age is revealed. Lots of Botoxed folks out there. Anne Robinson is the one I remember looking the most natural after her first facelift.

Happyme Fri 26-Feb-21 20:35:23

Yes yes yes gorgeous George , Martin Shaw and Martin Kemp....Prince Charles confused

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 20:37:51

I didn't mean prince Charles is fanciable now.
I just think he has grown into his features and looks at ease with the world..

Happyme Fri 26-Feb-21 20:55:39

Ok MissAdventure ? we believe you. I agree he looks much happier now, happier is a good look

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 20:59:22

Camilla, too.
They make a lovely couple, as much as it pains me to say.

Calendargirl Fri 26-Feb-21 21:07:30

Oh goodness, just looked at that picture of Felicity Kendall!

I would be sueing the surgeon.

That mouth! Those cheeks!

Why do they do it?
