I've just done mine online - I really don't remember the last one, presumably 10 years' ago.

Not had one when are we supposed to get it? I remember doing the last one though, it was all in post.not online.

GrammaH Mon 08-Mar-21 11:59:34

I've got mine & it'll be done online on 21st.

Those saying they haven't received the form yet should know that no forms are being delivered to households. You get a letter with a code number and leaflet in the post - make sure you didn't chuck it as junk mail, as some people have. You then go online to complete the form. Details of how to get a form if you cannot go online are on the leaflet.

I remember filling in last one.i dont remember a lot of pointless questions though? I thought they just need to know who is living/staying overnight/where? & thats why you tell them on that date?

Nannan2 Mon 08-Mar-21 12:05:55

No dont think have had any junk mail like that?- i usually open stuff anyway, then stuff junk mail in recycling after giving it the once over..maybe will come in next few days? What do you do then if you dont have this letter?

ALANaV Mon 08-Mar-21 12:08:15

Yes...as soon as it arrived online .....some odd questions on it ! I guess if I am dead before March 21st at midnight then I would still appear on the Census !

EllanVanin- what circus? Is there another bbc coronavirus update on?Or party political broadcasts???

GranJan60 Mon 08-Mar-21 12:14:25

Hope all those who sympathise with our predicament will complete their nationality as British EUROPEAN.

Lizbethann55 Mon 08-Mar-21 12:23:34

I thought that we were all supposed to fill them in on the same day. Isn't it supposed to be a snapshot of every household on one particular day and whoever was in your house that day/ night. So if someone was staying with you that night they would be on your census and not on the census form of wherever they normally live. Or have I got it wrong?

Grandmabeach Mon 08-Mar-21 12:24:14

Have not received a letter yet.

OurKid1 Mon 08-Mar-21 12:32:01

I did ours on the day it arrived. I was very tempted to reply so it would be more 'interesting!' Mr & Mrs Average in our house.

amblucgeolyd4 Mon 08-Mar-21 12:32:32

As a genealogist I find the census 's very interesting as they have been going every 10 years since 1841 and love reading them as you get a window into the lives of our ancestors during those times and they're a great help when you are doing your family research. They should be releasing the 1921 census this year so looking forwards to finding out more information from that. Taking a census every 10 yrs is a positive thing

OurKid1 Mon 08-Mar-21 12:33:51

PS. Re: the issue of it looking like junkmail. Agree with that. Usually anything addressed to The Householder is. I very nearly tore it in half and chucked it in with recycling. Should have CENSUS written prominently imo.

Glenfinnan Mon 08-Mar-21 12:34:24

Yes completed online!

Chardy Mon 08-Mar-21 12:39:28

Lizbethann55 you're not allowed anyone to stay at your house. You can fill them in now if you want to.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 08-Mar-21 12:41:33

I’ve just done ours, our DD is staying with us as she is just out of hospital, I was surprised to see that as a ‘Visitor’ I only needed to fill in her DOB and usual address.
I’m assuming that another Census form will be delivered to her home address, for all the other information, so who will fill that one in? Should we go and get it?

Humbertbear Mon 08-Mar-21 12:43:34

We have done our’s and my mother’s. DS asked each child to complete their own section which I thought was a good way of involving them

Bluecat Mon 08-Mar-21 12:59:47

I have done ours. I thought that the questions were very dull. Why would they want to know what sort of central heating we have?

Theoddbird Mon 08-Mar-21 13:01:06

I have had a letter telling me I would be sent a form. Maybe I will look online.

Cathy21 Mon 08-Mar-21 14:00:17

How does one get a form if not posted.

Annsan Mon 08-Mar-21 14:12:51

The governs has told us what day we should fill it in, so that’s what I will d

Annsan Mon 08-Mar-21 14:13:43

Ooops! Should have said government of course

Notright Mon 08-Mar-21 14:20:25

Has no one read the letter for the census. It says do NOT COMPLETE until 21st March. They have to have them done all on the same day. So you['d better do it again on the 21 March.

Pippa22 Mon 08-Mar-21 14:24:58

I can’t see the rush to fill in the form so far ahead of the Census day. Why not just do it on the day, who knows whether they might be dead by then ?

greenlady102 Mon 08-Mar-21 14:33:37

Alioop

Did mine online the day it arrived. My sister phoned me giving off cos she's not online, so she had to phone for the form to be sent out. Her friends, who are over 65, automatically got forms sent out. Shes fuming that they just think everyone under the age of 65 have internet.

both I and my sisters are well over 65 and none of us got forms sent automatically
