I used to love swimming and would like to take it up again. I've been told it's good for bad backs. But at 83 maybe I'm too old
for swimming really. I'm trying to decide.

The pool will be ok as the virus can't survive in the water. The issue is changing rooms.
Check on the cleaning regime - but I feel fine. I have been swimming this week.

Haven't been shopping yet (all online deliveries) - feel safer swimming.

My DD had booked a slot for last Monday the first day pools were open in England. She told me she was so happy she cried! On the same day, I had booked to have my eyebrows shaped and tinted and a face wax. I told her it would be my beautician who would cry!

Already back at the gym to use the pool. Numbers are limited but if I go at 06.15 to the smaller pool, it’s empty AND warm.

Went swimming on Tuesday and will be going again on Friday...I have missed it so much. Completely safe..you are immersed in chlorinated water... i keep away from everyone else and have a shower afterwards...simples!

We are going tomorrow, round the corner to a private pool. It costs £20 an hour for up to 5 people from one household or bubble. We are taking our DGS.
We would go to a public one if there was one but our nearest is 16miles away.

I went swimming yesterday and today. Also went when allowed last September-December.

Have to book online, limited numbers, some lane sessions, some general swims. Queue outside, sanitise, swimsuits under clothes, chairs spaced out around pool to put belongings on. Social distance swims, no showers, changing rooms to get dressed in. Masks except when swimming.
Everything cleaned in between sessions.

I feel very safe. The pool must be supported, they always run at a loss, if they decided to close permanently it would be a great shame.

We need to exercise, would rather go swimming than wander round Primark.

I’m going to see what the set up is at my local pool in a few days. I don’t want to be a whole lane swimmer. I have missed going this past year.

Swimming is the thing I have missed most after my family and friends. I have considerable lower spine damage from a train crash I was in over 30 years ago and the spinal consultant gave me a list of exercises to do in water as it is kind to the joints. I used to go 2-3 times a week around 8am and would happily go through my list in the shallow end. Unfortunately, in order to observe social distancing the swimming pools now only caters for the lane swimmers so there is no room for me. I have so missed this. I would be there tomorrow if I could go.

I can’t wait for our pool to open. It’s such good exercise. I think we have to learn to trust again or what’s the point?

Must admit to being slightly anxious about daughter taking her family on Thursday.
They had to book a 1 hour session and there are a few restrictions

I attend exercise sessions at our local hydro pool (lovely warm water) for arthritis. Last time they were open I was worried, but we had to book in advance as numbers were limited, 2 metre spaces were clearly set out in changing rooms, and attendants made sure everyone was strictly socially distanced.
I felt really safe although I didn't use a shower as I was happier to have one when I got home. But I'm super careful.
I wore my swimsuit under a tracksuit and a warm jumper, (well 2 warm jumpers actually) and I didn't bother with a bra coming home as I was straight into the shower. Clothes went straight into the wash.
Go for it, you'll feel so much better!

It's hoped that indoor pools may be allowed to open soon. It's the one thing I have missed but am still a bit worried whether it will be safe. Would you risk it?
