I have been out for the evening.A very rare event
The Pakistani taxi driver was over the moon with the result and can't wait for the next game.

What an amazing manager we have. He’s so good at nurturing young talent, having been manager of the under 21 team and calls on so much expertise from other people.

Not a great football fan, but have had an especially c**p last year or so. I feel on top of the world ! I cried after the third goal
Come on England ?

They played a perfect game. Well done them.
Thoroughly enjoyable.

I think your right MayBee70

Save some magic for the next game smile

I'll be glad when the whole thing is over. I'm sick to death of b....y football and tennis. Over hyped, over glorified, the lot of it. Of course, I'm in the minority, but hey, I'm entitled to my opinion! (You'll gather I'm not a sports fan - any sport. ?).

Hey Mapleaf, dont rain on our parade!! smile

I don't enjoy football. DH usually records it to watch later when I have gone to bed. I put it on TV for him last night and insisted he watch it while I played Words on my tablet. Forced a large whisky on him too. Both were enjoyed.

I’m glad to see Maw that I’m not the only one with a huge selection of books!

Brilliant game, atmosphere in our local was superb, restrained under the circumstances, but amazing. Thank goodness it’s summer with all the doors open and it was dry.
Roll on Wednesday when we’ll be back at our pub table for 8pm ?????????????????????

A great game, well played, and a great result, well done to the England team to get so far.??????

Wednesday will be interesting in our family we have a Danish DiL and GC ??

Kim19 Sun 04-Jul-21 09:01:03

Well done England! So glad you stopped at four.

Witzend Sun 04-Jul-21 09:09:45

Amazing result - even I was getting excited, and that’s saying something! While I didn’t feel in the least sorry for Germany, since they are usually fairly vocal about confidently expecting to beat us, I did feel for poor old Ukraine - I’d have liked them to get just one goal…

Witzend Sun 04-Jul-21 09:21:04

GrannyGravy13, the most interesting match I’ve ever sat through, was the 1966 final, when my German exchange girl was staying with us - I’d never want to go through that again!

I'm with you Mapleleaf. Overhyped definitely.

Oh for heavens sake, it has been a huge positive lift for the country. I wonder why people always have to pour cold water on everything. Well, do you know what, we really don't care. We won - a brilliant effort from Gareth and his team and not just a win - a 4-0 win.

Alishka Sun 04-Jul-21 16:32:28

Brilliant, wasn't it?!
It's become a summer of sport for me....footies, wimbledon, then the Tour de France..loving it all.
Best sport, tho, will be following the US IRS investigation into The Orange One's tax returns, they're going back 15 years.shockgrin

I guess there's no pleasing some people.

Let's see what Wednesday brings?
