You could take it to a local auction house and ask if they can identify the mark. Ten to one they will have seen it before, or will know the style of pottery.

Agree with you Cherrytree59. Cornishware is broad stripes of equal width. I looked up T.G.Green and do like the red and white kitchenware they did. Might look out for it.

It is in my retro dining room so count it as retro.

It is lovely. It does look Dutch although it would have the Delft mark I would have thought.

No idea, kittylester but it’s much nicer than my clear glass ones.

I did see these from Laura Ashley when looking for some plates for us, (living on the coast). You could buy half a dozen side plates for the cheese course with your dome!

That is very much like the Cornish Ware of my childhood!! John Lewis have some very similar and, in fact, we have just bought a new everyday service that is blue and white.

Ayse, I suspect it is a way off qualifying as an antique!! My suspicion is that it is 70s ish but I am happy to be put right. It was second hand in the mid 80s ish!

Maybe take it to the Antiques Road show if it comes to somewhere near you. They should be able to tell you something about it.

What is striking on the two photos is that the lines are quite thin. Unlike say Cornish pottery or China where the stripes are heavy.

Mine is a heavy pottery one. It matches the dinner service which I have handed over to my family. They were made to order by the potter son of a friend many years ago and the plates have a potters' guild mark on the back.
