I'm still in fleecy dressing gown and on my second strong coffee cafe - it's raining, dull and miserable out there but I must move off this chair.

Has anyone braved the elements? Opening the back door to let the dog out doesn't count! smile

It's been so blustery here today with heavy rain on and off.
Thank goodness we're up a hill. I've just watched Countryfile and checking our height above sea level.

I can see a rainbow up your way Sago.
Here's one in Cornwall this afternoon. (The colours never come out as strong in photos.)

Sago Sat 30-Oct-21 17:15:03

Calistemon it was the road!
Sun shone from 1 pm so managed a 3 hour hike?.

Sago

In the lakes on holiday, just got the walking gear on to go for a hike??.
This photo was as we arrived yesterday.

Oh, was that a road, Sago?

The other picture is lovely ?

Went to do some gardening in the sunshine, came in for a late lunch, chatted with DD in Oz then it just deluged down.

So much for sending you all some ?, one of you sent ?!

I ran out to catch our postman, in order to give him a box of chocolates. It's his last shift today as he is retiring. We'll miss him.
Luckily there was a gap between showers so I didn't get wet.
The sun is out now.

Oh that sounds delicious Teacheranne. I was awake too at 4am and only managed to sleep till 9 and then feel guilty about staying in bed (also dogs wouldn’t like sit).

Lucca Sat 30-Oct-21 13:28:01

I got up to go and have my booster jab and then rewarded self with coffee and almond croissant and crossword.
Might play some tennis this afternoon. It has temporarily stopped raining but still a bit windy.

Teacheranne Sat 30-Oct-21 13:13:29

I was still awake at 3am ( too much on my mind!) so did not wake up until after 11am. I’ve nothing planned for today so I’m still in bed pooling around on my iPad! I will get up soon I promise as I want to empty some plants from patio pots while the sun is still shining.

I don’t care what anyone thinks of me, I love my bedroom and as I live in a bungalow, it somehow feels different being in my favourite room than it I was still upstairs!

The rain went off and I did a 70-minute trot in the sunshine sunshine

Often the sun comes out as I return home!

Jaxjacky Sat 30-Oct-21 12:37:26

Hike or wade sago? Looks slightly soggy.

Sago Sat 30-Oct-21 12:35:23

Sorry! Pic of granddaughter was an accident ?

It's sunny in Gosport (my new home) I should really take Peggy for a walk but I'm decorating the kitchen and I'm not really getting on with it.

Why does lazy-itis strike at inconvenient times?

sodapop Sat 30-Oct-21 12:24:28

Out at 8.30 with the dogs, luckily the rain held off until I got home. Having a break for lunch then have to do the minutes of yesterday's committee meeting. Husband is outside cutting up wood for our neighbours from Paris who have a holiday home here. We got a pellet burner so he didn't need to cut wood, that didn't work did it.

Had my usual Saturday lie in reading GN. Loving the Good Morning thread ? PollyTickle. Woke up to sun streaming through the dormer window. We've both been out to see how much more water we have though. MrM was late in last night digging another trench to take away the water that was about to drown the lawnmowers. More to do today. There's enough drainage tunnels around us to match London underground?.

I don't suppose it will be the last rain/wind Cornwall will get though.

Off out soon to enjoy a doggy stomp with Mya. Wellies will be required again though. Then I'm in search of a garden pot for the last of the bulbs.

Wet and windy here too. We’re in thick mist and I can’t see next door’s garden the mist is so thick. I would have posted ten minutes ago but the WiFi went down. I hope it’s not going to keep disappearing all weekend.

It's lovely here in our bit of Birmingham. Dry and sunny after torrential rain in the night. I've been across the road to the shop. It was quite warm.

Lilydrop Sat 30-Oct-21 11:46:37

Went to Asda at 8 in the rain. Forgot tin of chocs for Halloween in case I get knocks at the door tomorrow.?

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 30-Oct-21 11:26:25

Sunny here now, MissOops and nephew turned up at 9am with a pack of bacon as they fancied a cooked breakfast, which I then had to cook! Fortunately I had mushrooms that I had to use up and plenty of eggs.
It woke poorly MrOops up, as the smell of bacon always does.

They ate then left, hmmmmm.
So I’m now wasting time on GN and about to reread some books before I send them off to The Bus Shelter to go into the book exchange crates. That should read ‘the school bus shelter’ as we don’t get buses any more.

Calistemon Sat 30-Oct-21 11:22:52

Lovely sunshine here!

I'll send some sunshine

Witzend Sat 30-Oct-21 11:21:52

The sun is out here now, and I am finally dressed!

nadateturbe Sat 30-Oct-21 11:19:15

Good story Baggs.
Would you like to share what book you're reading Aveline

Thanks FannyC. I think I better shower and wake myself up.
It's Halloween tomorrow and we have a fireworks display tonight which we're going to watch from our local sailing club. Exciting!
Hope you all have a good day.

Was up early at 7 and lo and behold it’s dry outside so decided to go for a nice brisk walk at 8. Now home and having my coffee and feeling great after being stuck in all day yesterday because of the incessant rain.

aggie Sat 30-Oct-21 11:04:23

I’m just back in from hanging out the washing ! Mind you it’s sunny but very damp , it’ll probably be coming back in soon !
It’s decidedly chilly!
