Bath towels or bath sheets?

Which do you use? I take my own bath sheet to self catering holiday accommodation in case only a bath towel is provided.

Either, depending on what I’m doing after my shower. Sometimes it’s a brisk towel dry, sometimes it’s wrap up in a bath sheet.

I'm a larger lady and like my bath sheets, tho I still don't know why they couldn't name them something other than sheets! Lol

A bath towel is fine for me. I'm not big enough to need anything larger. I do always take my own pillowcases, though, wherever I stay!

Interesting replies thanks - pleased I’m not the only one. Perhaps I should ask holiday lets !

I have a selection of both but the bath sheets are only used by overnight guests. I prefer to use bath towels as I find bath sheets too big. Not that I’m suggesting I’m petite! But I don’t wrap up in a towel. I prefer to shower then quickly dry and get dressed.

DH complained that the towels were getting too scratchy. We don't have a tumble drier, which would make them softer, and even white vinegar doesn't do the trick, so I bought him some bamboo towels, which are super soft and he loves them. I wash them separately in just water and they stay soft.

He likes bath sheets, to answer the question. I find bath towels easier to handle. I hate being wet and I hurry to get dry and into my night clothes and into bed after my bath. I can’t bear the thought of lounging around wrapped in a towel.

Bath sheet. The bigger the better. Can’t stand a towel which, when wrapped round my person, doesn’t meet at the front.

Bath sheets every time, Bath towel for my hair

Bath sheet, and IMO holiday lets that don’t provide them are stingy. Probably the same ones that only provide standard double beds when there’s plenty of room for a king size. Not to mention ancient duvets that have gone flat as pancakes.

Bath towels are useful for wet hair turbans, though.
I use both.

We have 8 huge, ultra fluffy white bath sheets in our holiday let this week Witzend. No complaints either about the bed size or the plump duvets.
The fridge is a bit small for our requirements though!

Bath sheets and hand towels here, and we have our own hand towels. I don’t think I have ever owned a bath towel.

After every use? Good grief, no. Is that a thing? If it is what a waste of energy and excess use of chemicals. Ours get washed about once a week, as does our bedding.

DanniRae Tue 02-Nov-21 07:29:23

I am wondering after reading this thread if people launder their bath sheets/towels after every use? We have our own towels but they get used a few times before they are washed. Oh dear am I going to get shown up? blush

All ours are bath sheets. All plain blues. We've probably got about 15

Caleo Mon 01-Nov-21 18:37:53

I like hand towels as many as I need. Hand towels are easier to use than the heavier bath towels.

Always a bath sheet - a bath towel for my hair.

Me too.

Kali2 Mon 01-Nov-21 18:16:14

Bathsheet always. But if we have visitors, they will get a bath towel if they stay one night or two, and a bathsheet, for longer stays.

My son bought me a towel as big as a single bed sheet, its huge. Fab for sitting cuddled up in

Another who feels undried if they haven't enveloped themselves in a bath sheet. Like Maizie we only have bath sheets and hand towels in the house.

According to John Lewis towels are named as follows by size: face cloth, guest towel, handtowel. bath towel, bath sheet.

During lockdown I used all my bath towels which had remained in the linen cupboard unloved for many a long year. My intention was to use them, wash them then donate them to the charity shop.
We decided that we actually preferred the bath towels for most occasions so they are still in use.

Bath sheets with a towel for my hair.
Now though they are becoming softer and cosier with my daughter’s advice on how to launder.
White vinegar…..nothing else. Amazing results.

PinkCosmos Mon 01-Nov-21 14:56:06

Bath sheets are far too big. Bath towel around my wet hair and towelling bathrobe when I get out of the bath.

I don't stay in the bathrobe for ages though, just until I have dried my hair.

Exactly as maytime2 describes for me.

Visgir1 Mon 01-Nov-21 13:46:07

Love Bath sheets but use Bath Towels as they don't hang right on the Towel rail and flop all over the place.
