I believe the qualified professional experts such as my hip consultant. I'd not know how to attempt to find out if they are incorrect, let alone try to argue that they are incorrect.

I do not believe the non-experts, who despite their passionate conviction, may not be as accurate as they believe they are, or twist facts to encourage our belief. Then, I would do some research. Whether or not I would want to argue with such a person, is another question.

Brian Cox and Boris Johnson have both fallen for the 'We're all doomed' approach to climate change. Cox in particular wants to ban all debate, which is odd as when I was at university I was urged to always challenge, always question, as by this means and by healthy scepticism science, and thus civilisation, advances. But that has changed and no university would promote such an attitude these days.
In the last ten years we've taken a sizeable backward step and I fear from my grandsons' future.

If you’re worried about the future of your grandchildren, then you should get on board with Climate Change. It’s scientists, not the government, who are urging us all to act. They’ve been saying it for years and the government have finally been pressured to address it. It’s real. Don’t be an ostrich.

It was never said that kids couldn’t catch Covid, only that they would be far less likely to become seriously ill with it.

Some people just believe what they want to believe even if it's very obviously untrue sadly.

Absolutely not. I have a son who is a pathological liar, he says things that aren’t true when it seems pointless to do so. Or my ex husband who prefers to say what he thinks you want to hear. I don’t believe anything a Tory MP says, ever. I prefer to get my news from Twitter rather than mainstream media. I tend to err on the suspicious side because so many people are liars.

Depends on the person who is telling me and the importance of topic we are discussing.

I love the way people who have been vaccinated think they are immune of catching /spreading covid, when they are not fully protected and can still catch/spread covid and keep blaming the unvaccinated.

Definitely not,there are so many stories going around,which totally contradict each other! I always discount what I read in the papers,they all have their own agendas.

On so called climate change and the 'climate crisis' , absolutely not!!
It amazes me how many of the gullible public seem to have swallowed the announcements of imminent doom when with about 5 minutes of checking they can see factual information, baked up by science to prove the opposite.
Prince Charles really should know better.

Of course not, especially with all rubbish being touted about Covid, vaccines etc at the moment, but if it’s something trivial it would depend if it sounded reasonable or not but I wouldn’t pass it on as gospel if I hadn’t checked first

No I don't until I've researched it or checked it out.
However I have found some unbelievable things to be true told to me by customers at a cafe I worked at. Also an environmental health student warned me about BSE a year before it was public knowledge

Absolutely.

If it was important I'd certainly check it out. More so if it was someone whom I had no reason to trust.
