Mail on ipad

When I press the mail icon on my iPad all I get is a black screen. My iPhone is working normally. Any suggestions?

My first go to is turn it off and leave a mo and turn it back on.

You could remove the app and then reload it.

There are 3 things I would do.

1. Check that you have installed all the necessary updates and install any new ones. Go to Settings > Software Update.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down the power key and home button at the same time until the screen goes black. It will then restart.
3. If 1 and 2 didn’t solve the problem, delete and re-install the Mail app as per JaxJacky’s suggestion.

Thank you all. Turning it off and leaving it severely alone worked wonders!
