Day and Night Roller Blinds

Hello. I want/need to update my living room window dressing! I went from nets to voiles but even these seem so dated now. I don't want vertical blinds and I would rather not have venetian blinds either. I don't really like plantation blinds, so it doesn't leave a lot of choice! I also need to think about light, as my husband has an eye condition that means he needs as much light as possible. Do Day and Night roller blinds let in lots of light? I know you can pull them up, but we are close to the road so could only do this a few inches. I would love to have a 'bare' window but there would be no privacy! Does anyone have any thoughts good or bad on these? Thank you.

I have those in various rooms. They come in different colours and I have whites, light blues and dark blues. They let in loads of light through the mesh but are completely dark at night. Mine are Duaroll. They look very smart and modern.

Thanks Josieann that's good to know.

Difficult to convey, but this is the amount of light in one of the rooms in the morning.

Oh they look lovely!
I've been looking at blinds for a long time now.

I forgot to say, you can see out but people passing can't see in.

White is my favourite, even on a busy London road no fading or going horribly dirty.

I'm off out to work now or GN will suspect I am a salesman for Duaroll!

Could you ‘etch’ the bottom part of your window? I think you can buy a put on / peel off etched piece , I think they come in different patterns too.
Ex SIL had them on the bottom half of his kitchen window as it was overlooked by next door. But I’ve seen it on windows in London where the houses are right on the main road.

Josieann thanks for the photo! Your living room looks great! I think I'm going to go for it and order. Oopsadaisy1 I've seen this done and it looks quite good. I do have a bit of a problem with condensation and thought the film might peel off after a while or become unstuck in places. Speaking as someone who could never even back an exercise book in sticky backed plastic, I would worry about actually getting it on correctly too! Good idea for small windows though.
