Did you wear a uniform?

I was a nurse and wearing a uniform was lovely - you didn't have to think about it and they were laundered for us. That was until I went into community nursing and we had to do our own but got a £3 a month allowance for washing powder. Once I moved up the ladder I found suits were a kind of uniform but it did become a bit of a fashion show for some!

I've never worn one while working but I have one for my voluntary job. I do like it.

There are so many jobs that involve wearing a uniform, but I've never been issued with one. Probably because I'm office based so just expected to be presentable. What uniforms have GNs worn over the years? I think the Armed Forces are very smart.
