Boots do sell glazes but I’m afraid I can’t recommend a brand as I’ve only had it done once at the hairdresser.

I dye my hair with garnier nutrisse dark brown which is my natural colour. I used to use nice and easy but they changed the formula and I found the colour to bleed into clothes and towels even after a few washes. My friend has alway used henna and looks great with her red hair as its her natural colour. She's in her mid 70s too. HTH

Personally I would never attempt to colour my hair if it were pure white. Now it may be, under the blonde colour! Certainly there seems to be some fairly white regrowth. My hairdresser has adjusted my colour to the reality that my own colour is fading fast. I am 65 in June but I am not yet at a stage where I just want my natural colour. There are groups on facebook - Going Grey Gracefully - where women support each other to follow their desire for no more dye but this is not for me. I think you should at least discuss this with a professional.hairdresser.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on white hair. I think I'll see if I can get a glaze as you say it gives a little colour and leaves it soft and shiny. Perfect. As Jnan says can we get it from Boots?

Thank you blossoming, do you have any recommendations I can try, possibly from Boots. Thank you.

A glaze is a moisturiser that will leave hair soft and shiny. It can be clear or it can be lightly tinted. It’s not a dye, it sits ‘on top’ and will eventually wash out.

It is really worth going to a good hair salon, getting advice and having your hair professionally coloured. Ask what numbers the hairdresser used to get the colour for you. It is then possible to get a close enough match off the shelf at a chemist to keep the regrowth under control meaning you can reduce the number of times a year you have it professionally done. Good luck!

I absolutely adore pure white hair ?

I think pure white hair is beautiful. I'd love it if mine went like that one day.

What is a glaze please? I now have white hair ( was very dark brown) just wondering how to make it look its best. Thank you.

We haven't seen your hair so can't compare. Mine is white as snow and it hadn't occurred to me to touch it. I'd rather use more colour on my face which has always been very pale and now looks washed out.

I grew my colour out during lockdown and now have lovely silvery hair. If you think yours is looking a bit flat or dull it might be worth considering a glaze.

Do any of you lovely grans have white hair like mine and do you colour it. If so what do you use. My hair is completely white but I would love it to have a modicum of blonde in it. I'm scared to do it in case it turns out badly eg too dark or too yellowy. Any suggestions.
