Irritating fly

There's a fly in my bedroom.
Its been there 3 nights and its driving me mad. It buzzes, loudly, its quite big but not as big as a bluebottle and when I switch the light off it darts about the room making this noise and seems to be divebombing my head. Getting to sleep is well nigh impossible.
I've chased it around with a swatter but its clever and hides behind the wardrobe or curtains, laughing its head off I'm sure. The spectacle of me with a swatter, in my nightie, chasing this thing around with murder in my mind must be hilarious.
I've even bought some spray, which I hate, and sprayed the room and shut the door and windows.
Its Super-Fly and seems immune to lethal sprays.
HELP.

The secret to swatting flies is to come at it from two directions, preferably with something white. Sorry, can't help if it's above head height though.

There was a recipe on the internet on home made fly traps.....I will have a look and attach the link if I find it.

Mental image made me chuckle ExDancergrin
French flies deliberately attack time and again and they bite. I sympathise with your plight.

My Aunt taught me two things about fly swatting -
1. Use a wet cloth

2. Aim just in front of the fly as it will then fly into the wet cloth.

Of course, not all flies have read Auntie’s Fly Catching Manual and do not realise this is what they’re supposed to do, but it does work most of the time!

Failing that, a butterfly net?

I rarely get a fly in the house as i have screen across my back door but if one sneaks in as long as i open one of the big windows at the front of the house it will fly right out again.

A wide open window always works in our house. Especially with bright daylight outside, as in the current weather. Flies are said to fly towards light...

I`ve got an electric fly zapper, worked brilliantly last year, but I think word`s got around the fly population and they`re avoiding it this year!
