Hi has anyone got any recommendations for a blender that has a dual purpose please? Mine has broken (20 years old) and I'd like one that could do juice, smoothies and puree veggies for smooth soups. I've had a quick look and there are so many, I don't know where to start lol!! TIA xx

I have a MagiMix which blends soups and makes smoothies plus several more features - it is a complete pain in the backside to clean after use and is despatched to the back of the cupboard and I now use a handheld blender.

I use a hand held blender for soup. So simple to use and clean. I believe it cost about a tenner.

I second the hand blender. I can't remember when I bought my current model. I always use it to blend soup and have used it for smoothies, though I'm not a smoothie enthusiast. It's so easy to clean too.

I don't know of one that will juice as well as blend - the juicers I've seen are different machines. I've got a NutriBullet that will make smoothies from soft fruit - anything harder like ginger and apples is broken down into tiny bits, but it's not juiced and there are always little bits in the smoothie. A Vitamix might do it as I think they are much more powerful, but again they blend everything rather than create juice. I used to have a juicer that made lovely juice out of anything but it was so fiddly to clean I got rid of it.

I have a Ninja. Very powerful and good value.

Thank you for your help. I think I'll get a hand blender and a separate juicer at some point. Thanks again :-)
