Thank you for your recommendations, everyone. I’ve been visiting my sister in Estepona for a number of years, so it’s about time I learned more Spanish. ?

GrandmaBatty. Although I am ahead of you time-wise, I realise that I am very slow when translating and once I move onto a new section, I find I don’t always remember completely past sections. Every error I make I write in a note book the correct spelling and that does help. I’m 76 so I can’t expect to gave a razor sharp mind.

Try the ‘24 Hour Spanish’ app. It’s free and Himself prefers it to Duolingo.

If you're happy to pay, there's Rosetta Stone which has a good reputation. Also Lingoda is often mentioned. I think the latter pairs you up with a native speaker for one-to-one lessons.

Duolingo is only a problem for Portuguese -their Portuguese is Brazilian.

My husband tells me there are lots of sites on YouTube for learning Spanish one he uses is Butterfly Spanish. I'm a fan of Duolingo for French I imagine they're great for any language

I love Duolingo and Memrise is good too. You get to hear real people talking. I would have really recommended FutureLearn.com. I used that a lot when it was free, but now courses cost.

Much further ahead than me, Nankate!

I’m on day 1003 of Spanish on DuoLingo too and love it.

My son’s partner is Columbian so she puts me right on pronunciation.

I use Duolingo and find it instructive and fun. You download the app and work through lessons at your own pace.

Can anyone please recommend a good Spanish conversational course? It would be something constructive for me to do in the Winter when I’m not gardening. Thank you. ?
