Something meagre or hearty on this dull Sunday morning?

I'm undecided smile

Madeleine along the top banner press ‘Forums’ select the Forum you want to be on ie’Fashion’ then click on ‘Start a thread ‘

I think that’s how you start a new thread. But if I go and look I’ll lose this post and have to start again!

Although it's off topic on this thread I wholeheartedly agree with you about 3/4 length sleeves

madeleine45 Tue 01-Nov-22 07:07:24

Not sure how to start a different thread, but do others find lots of clothes shops seem to have 3/4 sleeves at the moment. My pet hate, as if it is cold enough to wear a jumper why would you want 3/4 instead of long sleeve? I often wear cotton blouse or t shirt under woollen jumper. Hate the flipping line across your jumper half way up, hate the fact that 3/4 sleeves can ride up and you cannot hold it down whilst you put jumper on top. All in all come to the conclusion that they designers are men, or are trying to skimp on material to save money. Well they lose money as far as I cam concerned, because however good it looks wont buy they. I want either short or long sleeves . Many Many years ago when I was modelling clothes, I was taught to pay great attention to detail and make sure that it was all as smooth and smart as possible and then forget about it for the rest of the day. flipping 3/4 sleeves annoy me every time I catch sight of ridge under jumper in a mirror. Ah well rant of today over with. Wonder who is the prime minister today ? Oh yes of course!!

I think oats are more popular these days than ever I remember. I think there is such goodness in them and of course with all the add ins such as fruit it can be so varied.

Always the same at the moment - overnight oats, chia seeds, semi skimmed milk, Greek yogurt, blueberries and honey. I love it.

Gosh you all eat very healthy 'grown up' breakfasts! Today I had a BIG bowl of Coco Pops with hot milk. It's my favourite breakfast, I just love that chocolatey hit to start the day.

I'm a creature of habit.

Quick oats with added flax and hemp seeds, with about 1/2 cup skim milk and a coffee. 1/2 cup of orange juice later to wash down vitamins.

One thick oatcake with chunky marmalade, same as every morning - boring compared to many.

I've never really enjoyed breakfast. I remember my mum making me eat porridge in the morning before I went to school. I used to walk to school every morning feeling sick. Even now at 81 I don't have breakfast when I get up. I at least walk the dog in the park, get any shopping I need and then have Museli when I get back around 10.30am.

Sounds very healthy Bijou, I usually have fruit yoghurt a few nuts and seeds and either porridge or the plain oats sprinkled over the top.

Cambia Mon 31-Oct-22 16:06:03

Normally a Smoothie made from banana, kefir, flaxseed, chia and matcha. It’s delicious. Trying to add a few pounds after covid, so adding in toast and marmite.

Bijou Mon 31-Oct-22 15:28:01

Almost every morning hot Scottish porridge oats (soaked overnight in Oatley ) with either prunes or raspberries, cup of tea, glass of fruit juice and pain killers.

LadyHonoriaDedlock Mon 31-Oct-22 15:14:11

Two Weetabix with milk. Two slices of home-made bread, toasted, with butter and raspberry jam. Mug of strong black coffee. An array of pills.

Greciangirl Mon 31-Oct-22 15:01:46

Most days I have a Nutribulit blender consisting of .
Handful of spinach or mixed leaves.
Half an avocado.
Banana.
Blueberries, raspberries and a handful of almonds.
Blended up with coconut water.
It’s lovely and thick and very filling.
Some days I might have proper porridge with a spoon if golden syrup to sweeten and a handful of flaxseeds.

MibsXX what I have is really cheap to make. I measure the yogurt...6 teaspoons. Aldi bananas are really cheap and the cereal is just a couple of desert spoons. Large tub of yogurt really lasts if you are careful like I am. My breakfast is quite filling as well ;)

Enid101 It's easy to make blancmange with some milk, sugar and cornflour. Stick some flavourings in like vanilla essence, or lemon. We make something similar using tinned coconut milk instead of milk.

Croissants and coffee with hedge bramble jelly. Delicious.

catladyuk Mon 31-Oct-22 13:20:43

2 slices of toast spread with lavender honey, not really breakfast though as eaten at 11.10. nothing else until dinner this evening at whatever time i choose to cook it,
luckily, dh doesn't mind when he eats, he's just grateful that i go to the trouble of making it!!

silverlining48 Mon 31-Oct-22 13:15:26

It’s 1.10pm and we have just had breakfast. Wasn’t planned that way but I wasn’t even hungry, until I started eating.
So dinner around 5/6 pm, two meals instead of three , might help my with my extra weight.

MibsXX Mon 31-Oct-22 13:09:32

Nowt here we stopped being able to afford breakfast months ago! Some of these posts are making me both wistful and hungry though, some fab brekkies out there!

Treetops05 Mon 31-Oct-22 13:05:29

I don't eat breakfast, it makes me feel ill...sadly

Theoddbird Mon 31-Oct-22 13:03:04

Mashed banana with Alpro plain yogurt topped with Tesco fruit muesli.... I have that every day with coffee made with oat milk. Love it smile

AreWeThereYet Mon 31-Oct-22 12:59:55

Kippers, toast and a smoothie.

HannahLoisLuke Mon 31-Oct-22 12:49:22

Purition strawberry smoothie this week. I only do that when I can be bothered to set up the Ninja smoothie maker. Otherwise it would be toast with either a scrambled egg or marmalade. Never both and eaten around 11 am followed by a cup of tea, one sugar and full fat milk. Nothing else until dinner at about 7pm. I don’t have much of an appetite.

JLR1220 Mon 31-Oct-22 12:18:51

Oatmeal with chia seeds, flax, cinnamon, one chopped apple and walnuts. I often swap out the cup of water with coffee for more flavor!!
