What's for dinner?

First cooked meal since I went down with a cold - Aldi lobster mac ‘n cheese from the freezer.
Underwhelmed.

Small pork medallion with boiled potatoes and lots of fresh veg.
The remaining medallions will be cooked in the slow cooker which will soften them.

Duck pancakes tonight as it's Chinese New Year this weekend, Crispy seaweed to pretend it's healthy!

No pud. Those feature on the menu of I'm cooking for more than just us, usually an apple crumble or some kind of cake. Bakewell tart is a family favourite - home-made, not the sort that has thick white icing.

Cheese on toast. (I ate out at lunchtime).

Same here. Since we retired, we have our main meal around 1-2ish. We had a lifetime of eating late in the evening due to his job. Much healthier to eat earlier in the day, and light supper, usually soup.

Seafood risotto

We're eating late and light. Red lentil tomato curry, naan, salad.

Chicken and mushroom curry, simmering in the slow cooker, rice and poppadoms.

DH and I just enjoyed beef stir fry, mushrooms, onions, peppers, egg noodles, soy sauce...very tasty!

I defrosted a chillie, will eat with brown rice and a salad if I cba to put one together.

Cheese on toast. (I ate out at lunchtime).

Dh and I have just had fish n chips from the local chippy. Lovely!
I treated myself to a cod roe too. Delish!
We were ready for it as we’ve been busy again with Dd and her unpacking.

Indian takeaway - Chicken Rogan Josh with vegetable rice for me. DH is going to have Lamb Balti with chips and poppadoms.

Snap, but duck leg…. Roasted vegetables, baked apple to finish.

Duck breast with potatoes and veg, followed by some raspberries and blueberries.

A steamed pudding and lashings of custard would go down a treat this weather..

A friend made a syrup sponge pudding in the microwave.
It was very quick to cook and very good.

Pizza tonight, yum, side of kale, roasted in over, dribbled over olive oil, sea salt and tsp ras el hanout spice

I no longer make puddings. Used to produce a great variety of delicious puds years ago.
Recently I had a craving for jelly. Don't know why as it's over forty years since I last made jelly. However, I made a milk jelly, using evaporated milk and a little water to make up the liquid after dissolving the jelly. Added some raspberries too. It was delicious. I'll make it again, as it's not really a fattening pudding is it?

I often make rice pudding using full fat milk and plenty of freshly ground nutmeg, semolina or tapioca, apple pie and any fruit crumble, syrup steamed pudding.
I did try jam roly poly, it was a disaster.

No pudding for me, apart from an occasional mini magnum - I don't have a sweet tooth thank goodness!

Moroccan vegetable stew (Tagine)

Does anyone ever do pudding? We always had pudding growing up, now sadly we hardly ever have it - but think of all those glorious British puds that we are so good at making, it is a travesty not to make and enjoy really.

Plaice from the fish shack on the seafront, couscous and salad.
We are lucky to have such fresh fish here.

I made a chicken tikka masala and had rice and naan bread with it, delicious.
