Poor quality clothing

Is it because of Brexit that you can't get decent clothes anymore?

I'm mid 60s and love fashion but it's a chore trying to buy anything decent. Any ideas for decent quality fashionable clothing (not mutton dressed as lamb) that hide the tum and upper arms ?
Years ago Marks & Spencer would have been reliable for us ladies of a certain age who wanted quality clothes. Everything now is made of dreadfully cheap material.
Oh and what about shoes that come in half sizes ?

Joe Brown clothing have some lovely styles, maybe something there to suit you?

TiggyW I’ve bought from Joe Brown, but only tops as I’m tall and need 33/34 inside leg, I think they’re 29”?
Many of the sites mentioned have a similar leg leg length, M&S long does me and Long Tall Sally in the sales.

I've just returned a M&S t shirt I bought online. I'm usually a 12 and am 5ft nothing. I ordered a 10. It was like a sack. Shapeless and far too long. Also cotton so thin you could spit peas through it. Not cheap at £17.50 either. I quite like Weird Fish and often by their tops in a sale. I too find a lot of the brands mentioned expensive.

I was put off buying anything from Joe Brown many years ago. I ordered something, it was out of stock, and they sent something completely different instead. It was such a faff to return things that I did not bother. It was back in the day before most people and shops had online access.

I doubt it's got anything to do with Brexit. It's more likely that shops just prefer to dress young, fashionable people as they are more likely to buy new every three months as the seasons change which will mean huge profits. Older people tend to make their clothes last a year or two. I'm not fashionable at all, so I buy from Charity shops and generally don't discard until they wear out. I dress for comfort, not for fashion.
