Swim wear for the larger lady

I wear a swimming costume and a sarong, it looks good.
I take the sarong off before I go into the pool, and towel dry excess water when I get out, then put the sarong back on.
Honestly you see all shapes and sizes in a pool, no one really cares about what others are wearing or look like.
Enjoy your holiday and don't worry.

I am about the same height as you, bytheway and only a stone lighter. I am going away on holiday for the first time in 4 years next month, and have bought a "boy shorts swimsuit" as the tops of my legs are now a bit baggy and saggy (I am 66, by the way).

But as ever-sensible Callistemon says, there will be all shapes and sizes on display and no-one will bat an eyelid and I doubt your step daughter will be judging you against herself. Your holiday sounds wonderful, just please let go and enjoy yourself and your time with your family.

No-one will be comparing the two of you and there will probably be all shapes and sizes there.

You could buy swim shorts and a top rather than a swim dress which might flap around.
Keep a sarong handy for wrapping round your waist when you get out of the pool.

Enjoy yourself 🙂

At half term me and DH are going away with step daughter and her 2 children in Cornwall. We always spend a week away with them once a year, usually involving lots of hikes, good food, wine and a chance to see DGC who live 500 miles from us.

This year we are staying at an activity centre with lots to do on site including swimming pool, sauna and spa. I have been looking forward to this for months but now it’s almost upon us, I’m ashamed to say I’m embarrassed by my size, I really want to swim with them all but at 5’3’’ and 12.5 stone I have a very big bum and chunky legs.

I have a swim dress, which I tried on earlier, and whilst it fits okay the sight of my huge elephantine legs left me feeling depressed and embarrassed, especially against my beautiful slim step-daughter.

Can anyone suggest anything else I could wear or knock some sense into me.
