This time in 1973 I was 18 and waiting to start nurse training, having left school three years earlier at the tender age of 15.

I don't know were the time went but would like to re-visit and make a few changes! smile

In the summer of 1973 I had just finished teacher training, just got married, and just about to start my first teaching job! A busy time.

I was working the summer holidays in Pedigree toy factory prior to leaving home to start nursing training. Fun summer stitching teddy bear paws, painting gold leaves on Sindy furniture and ironing Rupert bear scarves ! But it gave me the money to buy nurses fob watch, regulation shoes and a suitcase plus the train fare. Fun times !

DH and I had been married for nearly a year. At about this time we had a holiday camping in North Wales. Sat out in the blazing sun the first day, both got terribly sunburnt!

What idiots we were!

Had turned brown by the time we went home though.

On my school holidays and probably spending every waking moment at the local riding stables.

I was 25, hugely pregnant with our first Daughter, who was born on 27th July, weighing in at a healthy 8lbs 11oz. Ouch! She'll be celebrating her 50th next Thursday. We were living on the Moray Firth coast at the time, which is where Baxters grow most of their soft fruits for jams etc. Very handy, as my main food fixation during late pregnancy in particular, was fresh strawberries. How time flies.

I was 23 , married and expecting our first child. Working in London and decorating our little cottage including a nursery.
Excited and apprehensive.
Would we do it all again?………. Maybe, possibly, probably.

Two years married, just starting a Dip.Ed at B'ham university while retaining my scale 3 teaching salary and having travelling allowance as well! No fees to pay either.
Petrol was 33p per gallon at the beginning of the year and 99p at the end.
