fancythat

Not sure if it was you who mentioned ESG previously.

Do you mean Vanguard, Blackrock and Berkshire Hathaway?

To be honest fancythat
you'd be hard pressed to find any medium to large business not involved.

Lots of small family businesses are going to the wall.

It’s appalling, I can’t boycott them as I don’t drink coffee and would always use an independent rather than a chain.

Yes your right.

It is on one of their vans that is used for pride. It doesn't really bother me but if it makes some people happy then so be it.

I didnt know that Costa coffee is owned by coca cola. And those 3 companies are the investors.
Those 3 names do seem to keep cropping up with anything to do with this subject.

Costa and now Doc Martens. All jumping on the bandwagon to gain monetary preferential treatment under the guise of inclusivity for 0.5% of the population. Crazy stuff. Historians will look back in puzzlement.

Its very mercenary of them.

They get preferential financial treatment from the billionaire supporters of ESG (and other schemes with different acronym).

Who have laid out the conditions to comply with, and will give preferential financial treatment accordingly, to those who follow and promote these conditions.

So if the public boycott them, they dont loose out much.

But they I.crease their credit score within these schemes.

So it's all about money and virtue signaling.

I think it’s awful. A friend who had a double mastectomy a few years ago is really upset and I can understand why.

If there’s a point to this tasteless ad I’m definitely missing it.

I hope a lot of people will boycott Costa as a result and they shoot themselves in the foot. That’s a scar I wouldn’t mind seeing.

I haven't seen it either and wonder why anyone would think it would encourage people to drink their coffeeconfused.

Georgesgran Fri 04-Aug-23 13:29:39

I haven’t seen the ad, but there was an article in yesterday’s DM saying it was trivializing a serious operation.

Just wondered what you thought about this ad showing a cartoon person with double mastectomy scars. I like Costa Coffee but I definitely dont like my mastectomy scars! I wonder if they have made a BOOB with the ad (see what I did there lol)
