Hello! 👋
I hope this finds everyone well.

I’ve been having a bit of a break as I was spending too much time online.

I’ve missed you all, and I’m back. 🤗

It’s the 25 year anniversary of me and DH this year, and he would like to buy me a new ring.

I’d wear it on my wedding finger on its own, and all of the time, so comfort is of the essence.

I’ve found exactly what I’d like but can’t decide upon the stone.

I’d like to hear your thoughts
Thank you 😊

Hi Fanny! Good to see you back.

I like both of them, but would probably go with the emeralds for the reasons already mentioned. It is a beautiful ring, whichever stone you choose.

FannyCornforth have you decided?

I'm not a fan of green so would always choose the sapphire. Maybe choose by what colour clothes you wear most.

I chose a Victorian style ring for an engagement ring as I wanted a flat setting that I could wear all the time. I expected to choose sapphires and diamonds as sapphire is my birth stone, but fell in love with a ruby and diamond one. Once I'd seen it, nothing else compared. I still wear it on the other hand despite being divorced for many years! My knuckles on my right hand are fatter too so I can't get it off!

I love the warm emeralds. There is no wrong choice, because your gut instinct will choose the right one for you. Congratulations.

Green and gold bling always looks great. But you must choose for yourself, and him obvs

I don’t think I could remove my wedding ring. It’s been there for nearly 60 years. I have been in hospital twice Anita was covered over with sticking plaster both times.

Keep it on your finger Fanny ,,you can never replace it

That ring does look pretty, but why would you remove the wedding ring you've had for twenty five years?

Why not wear them together?

I have never removed my wedding ring from my finger since our wedding day,. I'd feel lost without it.

Is that a Clogau ring FC? If it is I have three of theirs, no stones, one I wear daily, the other two as and when. All are wearing very well, I’ve had one for getting on for 40 years.

All three you’ve shown us are beautiful. My advice is still to go with your heart and don’t over think it

I love the Sapphires & Emeralds are more fragile, lucky you & Congratulations

Fanny the amethyst is pretty but I still love emerald.
I love the shape and the way the stones are set.
The more you look the more you will see to choose from.

I have a Dearest ring in a Victorian style setting - pics are of more modern settings. Something like this would give you all the stones! Congratulations on anniversary.

I really like that!

Think of your wardrobe and also think of your skin tone, which would set off and show off the ring better. I also think blue is a more neutral color that would work in most situations. Emeralds are a very dramatic colored stone. Either one beautiful.
Congratulations and wear your new ring in good health.

That new colour is AMAZING. Go for it x

BlueBelle Thu 14-Sept-23 14:14:56

Never had a ring with a real stone in it so you re a lucky lady whether you go for green, blue or amethyst

Callistemon21 Thu 14-Sept-23 14:11:03

One for each finger and thumbs - it seems to be very fashionable now.

TanaMa Thu 14-Sept-23 14:10:29

Be really daring and have one of each!!!??😱

Was told by several jewellers recently, when shopping for something similar, that emeralds are far less hard wearing than sapphires and not as suitable for a 24/7 ring.

Welcome back, you have been missed.
The rings - It has to be your choice.
We all have different taste.

I am currently wearing an emerald ring that has been given to me by a friend small emerald with small diamonds surrounding it making it look like a flower. I love it. Wear what you are happy with.

Sago

Sapphires are stronger than emeralds, if you’re wearing it every day I would go for sapphire.

I'd say this too. Personally I had rubies. You might be tempted by diamonds though as I was?

kittylester Thu 14-Sept-23 12:11:51

Love amethyst.
