If you are going to wear it all the time I would suggest the sapphire one as that is a harder stone than the emerald. Just remember that most modern sapphires are quite dark blue almost black. They always look blue on the advertising.

My choice would be the emerald, well it is my birthstone, but personally I would not wear a ring with precious stones all the time unless you take it off to do jobs or wash hands. I once made that mistake and lost a valuable solitaire diamond from a ring.

Congratulations to you both and welcome back. Depends on your own colouring and your preference in what you wear, mainly green or mainly blue. Both rings are lovely but I picked up that you said you might regret choosing the emerald, is your subconscious telling you something?

Just a thought , Fanny but what colour is your hair ?

If your skin is creamy with freckles and your hair red or strawberry blonde then emeralds .
If your hair is ash blond then sapphires .
When shopping are you attracted by green shades or by blue ?
You will naturally gravitate to the colour that suits you .
My mother preferred green so do I and so does my first daughter as we all have similar colouring .

If it were me and I was wearing it every day I’d think about how it looks against my skin tone. I’m pale and wear a lot of shades of blue so that would probably influence my choice.

I do have a ring set with sapphires though so may be slightly biased.

I’ll tell you what I used to do when customers were torn between two pieces of jewellery.
I would mix them up and hold them behind my back. I asked them to pick a hand. It wasn’t to make them take the one they chose but to ask if they were happy or disappointed with the choice. It concentrated their minds.
You could write “emerald” and “sapphire” on two pieces of paper and pick one out of a hat, as it were. It might help you see where your heart lies.
Both are beautiful by the way, I might “casually” share this with DH, it’s our Ruby in a few years…. Just saying!

Personally, it’s the emerald for me. My engagement ring is a pear cut emerald surrounded by diamonds, but in white gold.
Of course, you have more than one ring finger!

I have mostly blue and not much green.
Blue sapphire would go with all shades of blue and pastel shades .
Green would not go with all shades of green especially limes imho.
