Yes, it happened to us too Maggiemaybe

We arrived then had to take an internal flight so were advised to re-distribute and transfer some into bags!

Some Australian airports are more strict than others, the smaller the airport the more jobsworth strict they seem to be.

It was 2015, but we nearly fell foul of the much lower internal flight allowances in Australia. The checkout staff were very laidback though, and just doled out big plastic bags to our party so that we could take things out of our suitcases and carry them onboard (no, it didn’t really make sense, but we were very grateful for the understanding!). We didn’t have to pay any extra.

We’d one Victor Meldrew with us who kept on and on about how ridiculous it all was, until he was told in no uncertain terms that if he didn’t put a sock in it the plane would be leaving without him. grin

Allowances for domestic flights are less than for international flights I think.

Premium Economy and Business class have higher allowances.

If you have booked through Titan they may have a limit on luggage allowance so don’t go by what Quantas says. Double check. Also, you need to check internal flights as the luggage allowance is often much less. I don’t know how long you are going for but you seem to be planning to drag around a lot of luggage. I would suggest packing less and doing some washing.

Unable to answer your original question... But double check your internal flights that all your baggage is included.
We had planned to tour around Australia using internal flights but the baggage allowance is much less if any, so we paid the extra before setting out.

In the end total ours was a waste of money, as Covid struck, advised to come home we had to cancel our trip after only being there 10 days. But we would have been okay otherwise.
