Fridge magnets

I keep mine on the front of the fridge-freezer. One of my favourites came from my sister. It says: "She wasn't always right but she was articulate". The picture accompanying this dictum looks nothing like me.

I have a mix of fridge magnets from holidays, gifted ones, and some I bought just because they made me smile.

I never had fridge magnets until last year but love them I use then to display my grandsons drawings ..

I love mine, but there`s no room on my fridge now for any more. Definitely wouldn`t part with them.

Make a collage of them all. You could purchase a cork board and attach them with blue tack or glue and put them somewhere in a room where you can see it.

I had never had a fridge with a magnetic front so I don't have any fridge magnets. I have always collected patches which I finally sewed on to a large piece of black felt a few years ago and stretched over an old bit of chipboard. It hangs on the wall on the landing. As the landing is a narrow corridor you can't hang a picture because you can't stand back to look at it far enough, but a collection of little bits such as patches or fridge magnets need closer inspection so it's the ideal place.

My other holiday souvenirs are my tea towels, which don't take up wall space!

So for a fridge magnets collection, you can get a magnetic whiteboard as others have suggested, put a nice frame round it, and hang it in any niche or narrow spot. The back of a door might also be an idea.

We had one, somehow our grandchildren moved it round the unseen side, it's been lost for years. This last summer the woman who toured us round Croatia gave us a pretty red heart magnet, lovely memory.

To combine two other people's suggestions: Give them to DGD in a large biscuit tin. Kids love tins and she can have fun "sticking" the magnets on the large lid.

What is your fridge door made of, JackyB ? The fridge magnets are magnetic themselves, so if the door is made of steel or iron, they would probably stick to it.

I think the OP has probably sorted her fridge magnets by now.

To answer your question, Elegran, the last 2 kitchens had integrated fridges, so the same doors as the cabinets, and before that the stand-alone fridge had a plastic door.

I have a freezer with a metal door but that's in the back porch and no one sees it except when they go to get ice cream.

Sorry for perpetuating this old thread. I did look at the date, but not so much the year! ( Haven't got used to the new year 2025 yet!) Anyway it's probably still a relevant subject to someone....

I put mine on my stainless steel cooker hood because I didn’t want them on my new fridge.

I used to collect fridge magnets from my travels, but after a while, my fridge looked way too cluttered. I started being more selective, keeping only the ones that had real meaning or a fun story behind them. A friend recently showed me fridgebeats.com/ , which makes fridge decorations more interactive. It’s been a great way to mix things up without overloading every inch of space with souvenirs.

Mollygo I love my magnets and when I buy a new fridgeFreezer they’re going back on it they’re from all over the world given to me by friends and family and bought on my many travels, I’d never get rid of them - so many memories - good luck in your decision making

I have tried, quite successfully, to avoid having fridge magnets. However I do have a magnetic wipe clean shopping list,an oven timer and a notepad and pen stuck on one side of the fridge.
