Hotels by the sea

We love hotels over looking the sea when we have a short break.

We love the Brudenell at Aldeburgh and used to enjoy The Midland at Morecambe before it was taken over. When the children were small, we stayed at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel.

Can anyone recommend anything similar?

Hey, I'm sure I read in Devon & Cornwall Live that The Atlantic Hotel is for sale! Off to check the price.

The Carlyon bay hotel Saint Austell in Cornwall. Lovely hotel with beautiful sea views and grounds. Pricey but we got a late deal reasonably priced.

The Royal Victoria Hastings opposite the beach. It’s beautifully kept, we had a large room and a tasty dinner.

I'd have a look at these ones:

I find Conde Nast quite reliable.
You could search their website too.

Take a look at the Hydro Hotel in Eastbourne. Many of the rooms overlook the sea and there’s also a conservatory restaurant with views as well as a pretty sea facing garden for warm days. It’s a comfortable hotel with helpful staff and good food. It’s not super luxurious or modern but has every comfort and a friendly atmosphere.

Like Primrose, I would recommend the Blakeney Hotel in North Norfolk. It’s not cheap but they certainly know how to look after you and the food is superb.
