Does anyone use their George Forman grill?
Mine went to recycling . The hot plates can not be removed for cleaning and grease covers the work surface. It was a gift so didn’t feel bad about ditching it
This morning I nearly bought a plastic scraper that would do a million things, then a lint roller that would restore my carpets, after lunch a foundation popped up on Instagram that would change my life.
I have resisted them all and saved about £60.
What gimmicky widgety stuff have you purchased and was it good?

Does anyone have a sandwich toaster still; the Breville one?
Janetashbolt Sorry to hear about your husband’s addiction to Temu - that’s very bad. It’s cheap Chinese junk and crap, and they have you where they want you. Pictures always look good.
NEVER click on Temu!
I don't think my magimix was top of the range and was just taking up space.
Other gadgets I have just noticed taking up drawer space:
A hardboiled egg slicer
A garlic clove peeler
A herb chopper
Various icing pipers I never make icing nowadays
Stoppers for wine bottles. I surely don't need 6.
I liked my hard boiled egg slicer.
It was my mum's, then my daughter's and then mine.
And then a certain person who shall remain nameless moved in, and all the wires got bent out of shape.
I bought a robot vacuum cleaner that mops hard floors as well. It differentiates between our rugs and the hard floor. It's brilliant. I do move furniture around for it a bit so there is planning required and of course use the edging tool to get to little spaces it can't reach but honestly it's been well worth the money.
Mine was only a cheapy, but it certainly "keeps it down".
I must charge it up (talk about lazy!)
I k ow I’ve got a bee in my bonnet about Must Have Ideas but when I bought the useless table from them I bought several other things that are rubbish. One is a gadget that reveals plastic bags which basically just melts the plastic. I also bought some dryer balls ( and this was my fault) that are made of lambs wool. They do work but I’d forgotten that wool of any kind makes me itch ( even thinking about wool makes me itch) and the fibres rub off onto the clothes defeating the object of me always buying cotton.
I happily inherited a panasonuc breadmaker . I knew they were good because I gave DD one. She lives in the middle of nowhere and loves it.
I hardly used mine as I'm on my own and don't get through much bread.
It was huge and took up workspace.
I gave it to a friend who also lives way out in the sticks country
She has just finished reupholstering a chair for me. Win win
Gave way bread maker because we kept eating too much bread.
😂🤣😂 I’m a gadget person too…
Anything that hadn’t been used for six months or so was sold or given away when we had our kitchen refitted three years ago. They’re not missed and nothing has replaced them, it’s so easy to buy ‘stuff’.

I have a sandwich toaster, I can't recall what make it is but it is loved by most.
My grandson loves tuna sarnies made in it, as do I, and the cheese ones go down a treat.
Unfortunately, counter space is very limited in my 'kitchen' - I'm not sure the size really constitutes a proper kitchen - so it sits on a shelving unit with other non-daily used objects.
I just bought a cat hair brush for my long haired cat. It has a button on the back that you press that pushes all the hair off in a little mat. It's the best thing I have bought for a long time.
I bought 2 of those wooden handled de-fluffers, figuring if I like them, one can go to one of my DC.
If I didn't like them, both of my DC would get them.
My DDIL received one, I have kept the other as I'm quite pleased with it. I lose of lot of my hair on my pillow, which is very annoying when it pops into my vision, so I use this thing to clean the hairs off my pillow. Shaking and puffing doesn't always do the trick and this is quicker!

That's good to know.
If I know something is going to be put in a cupboard, I know not to buy it, as it'll never see the light of day again.
Yes, do! Chicken manure is really good stuff for gardeners and definitely not a gimmick
The place to stay away from for small gadgets is Lakeland. It’s always full of things you never knew you needed.!
A hand held steamer it's took the creases out of the new curtains easier than ironing them. I'm rather impressed didn't expect to be so I shall keep it.

I bought a Nutribullet blender off a shopping channel but after only using it a couple of times it was relegated to the back of the cupboard. I tried to give it to either of my DD's but they weren't interested so I took it to the recycle shop at our local recycling centre. I now have a Bamix which I do use.
Oh, I love my nutribullet! I have had it for 9 years now and use it regularly - more or less daily in the summer. Definitely one of my most used appliances in the house.

I bought a window vac last year and it is brilliant at windows, mirrors and tiles. I've got streakfree glass for the first time in over half a century.
My juicer was relegated to the back of a cupboard (takes too long to clean), along with my pasta maker and ice cream maker.
My food processor and breadmaker have earned there worktop space.
My ice cream maker is never used, my juicer was used for a few months but I also got fed up with the cleaning and it took up too much counter space. I bought a bread maker and have had it for 5 years and never once even turned it on. Bought the starters, bread recipe books and everything I needed but it just seems daunting for some reason. I cook from scratch every day so why the reticence about this I don’t know. Maybe if I just make one loaf of bread I will be a convert 😂
Julest, my breadmaker is a Panasonic. I just use the recipes that came with it. It takes me under 5 minutes to dump the ingredients in it on a night. I usually then set it off on it's timer and wake up to the smell of fresh bread. However for some reason there are no new Panasonic breadmakers available anywhere at the moment so if you're not going to use it now might be a good time to sell it.
Anyone got cooling globes and do they work?

A spiralizer, not cheap but I never managed to do courgettes or anything else without having to clean the entire kitchen afterwards. I gave it to my daughter but I think she quickly passed it on.
Yes! I forgot I have one of these too. Never used it 😂
Funnily enough even although this post is making me realise how many gadgets I have that I never use I am now wanting to order all the gadgets I dont have. I want an air fryer, a crimpit, a window vac and I am only half way through the posts 😁
