Further to the previous dilemma of the ‘purchase of a train ticket’ I can happily say that it has been purchased & we can look forward to a good time 👌Thank you to everyone who gave advice .
Now however I am faced not with a dilemma as I know what I will do , but I wanted to share this .
As myself & relation No1 will be travelling within close proximity of Relation No2 we thought of suggesting a catch up .
Relation No1 & myself would drive the short 30minutes (on a good day ) This would be the day after our planned event & give time to get back for the return train journey. I spoke to RelationNo2 & asked the question “are you free on this day ,shall we meet up ‘
The response I got was
‘It’s **Day ( insert GC name) & go with DD to meet him with DIL “
Which of course is fine , the next bit was a little odd ,
As I was asked to call the DIL myself to say we were visiting & ask permission!!!!!
Needless to say , I declined this request & have now decided not to visit at all .
Relation No2 is the sister of No1 relation & I am in that mix as well .
I was just suggesting the 3 of us meet for a catch up & next thing I know it’was going to be 5 plus a toddler , which while I thought it would be lovely to see my Great Nephew ( his Dad is my Godson ) it was bizzare that I was being asked to contact the DIL !
I feel it’s not my place to be calling her DIL & I told her that . It’s time I stopped organising getting together with Family I think 🤔 lesson learnt .
