I was born in Ramsgate and spent a lot of time living with my nan, who ran a guest house there.

My family moved to Broadstairs when I was 16. I have been back there many times over the years. Lots of changes but still one of my favourite places.

I live in Thanet. My DC and 5 DGC were all born here.
There have been lots of changes over the years.

My sister and her family lived in Broadstairs from 1982 until her death in 2016 so I have spent a great deal of time there over the years and really love the area.

One of my nephews still lives in Broadstairs and another in Ramsgate.

I always think it must have been quite impressive back in its Victorian hey day.

I was brought up in Mid Kent and visited Thanet - Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Margate, on day trips as a child. Now, I live here and love it.
The area has a long history of welcoming people with disabilities, I am proud to say, and has a larger- than - average number of special schools.

No, but I often buy lovely cherry tomatoes from a grower called Thanet Earth.

Only been once but I have a very pleasant memory. Many years ago we took a group of people with learning disabilities on holiday to Kent. We parked in Thanet and duly paid the parking fee. An attendant came running after me with a refund of the fee saying ' nowhere on the Isle of Thanet do disabled people have to pay for parking'. Very kind.

I lived in Birchington for over 30 years. Recently moved a bit further round the coast.

Herne Bay isn't Thanet though - or have I misunderstood the post?

I didn’t live in Thanet but was a regular visitor. I lived in Ashford as a child and we went on regular holidays and day trips to Westgate. I love the area. Lots of happy memories!

Herne Bay had the most wonderful seafood I remember having great meals there when we were on holiday. We lived in Kent but didn't travel far from home! Westgate was my mum's holiday of choice.

Was anyone brought up in Thanet?
I spent my childhood in walking distance of Herne Bay also Upper Hardres near Canterbury.
I can remember one winters day crossing the High street in Canterbury when there was no one around as commuting to London was not possible with the slow trains etc
