I thought this looked lovely for a Spring coat but my very conservative son told me not to be ridiculous. I'm still tempted. Would you wear something so loud?

Wear what you want and ignore everybody else. Much better than boring black.

Visgir1 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:59:56

Yes... It's right up my street.

SpanielCuddler Tue 11-Feb-25 13:59:22

Good for you. My daughter would have loved it!
Reminds me of Elmer.

Luckygirl3 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:51:47

I love it - but the flippy floppy sleeves would be a darned nuisance.

Aldom Tue 11-Feb-25 13:51:04

That coat reminds me of being taken to the circus as a child. One of the stars, a clown wore a similar coat. grin So it's a no from me.

Aveline Tue 11-Feb-25 13:50:03

You wear it if you'd like to. I wouldn't though. It's all round too much form me. I'd prefer either quieter colours or smaller checks. It looks vaguely clownish. Sorry.

Beautiful coat but I wouldn’t wear it, I like to fade into the background not stand out. (Says more about me than the coat).

Nanato3 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:38:44

Not For Me.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:36:39

I think it’s fabulous, but would need it in petite.

Cossy Tue 11-Feb-25 13:29:48

Yes and I love it! But it and damn anyone else’s opinion

Truffle43 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:29:30

If you love it wear it . I love bright colours I’m too short to carry that gorgeous coat off but if you can go for it. When people say things to me I respond by saying I will be a long time dead and can’t wear it then. This usually stops them talking.

HousePlantQueen Tue 11-Feb-25 13:28:17

Well done Kirkcubbin!

keepingquiet Tue 11-Feb-25 13:27:37

I would if it were more fitted- the fashion is for them to look big I think but I'd end up looking like a roll end of carpet!

CountessFosco Tue 11-Feb-25 13:26:34

To me it looks a little like a blanket

Or any other😂 it’s like a circus clowns coat.

Chocolatelovinggran Tue 11-Feb-25 13:26:01

Good move - kircubbin!
I have a not too dissimilar jacket from Joe Brown which I love. I am happy whenever I wear it, and it has been admired often.
I have a plain navy coat that is good, but nowhere near so much fun.

Ziplok Tue 11-Feb-25 13:24:37

Well done, you, kirkubbin2000. Now wear it whenever you want and where you want - don’t be dictated by anyone as to when you wear it, and that includes your son 😊

AGAA4 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:24:06

It wouldn't suit me but I'm sure you look good in it.

maddyone Tue 11-Feb-25 13:24:04

No I wouldn’t wear it. I think it’s horrid.

kircubbin2000 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:16:38

I got it. He made me change into the black one to go out!

HousePlantQueen Tue 11-Feb-25 13:16:37

Beautiful coat, but I am too short to wear something with such a big pattern. I love the bright colours; why are coats so dull? I was out to lunch last week and watched people walking past the restaurant windows, they were nearly all wearing black ( and not even a nice crisp black) long padded coats, all so very dull. Why not a nice bright red, or purple?

pascal30 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:11:32

Yes definitely...it's gorgeous.. get out there and stun them...

pably15 Tue 11-Feb-25 13:09:37

rafichagran Tue 11-Feb-25 12:59:44

Buy it, I would nor listen to your son.
I like it, but like a poster said upthread, I personally think you need to be tall to wear it, and make sure it does not swamp you.
Lovely coat though.

Barleyfields Tue 11-Feb-25 12:53:43

Ziplok

Meant to add, don’t listen to your son on this, he’s not the one who will be wearing it. 😅

If you buy it he might refuse to be seen with you when you’re wearing it! 😄
