Friend gone away

She can use WhatsApp.
Next time she’ll be away for 6 months, and I doubt I’ll hear from her, but she’ll contact me to meet up as soon as she gets home. I have other friends and I’ll aim to see more of them.

I don’t message my friends when I’m away and none of them message me if they’re away. I don’t think it occurs to us. I think we all look on travel as a complete change from ordinary life.

I too think it’s a sign that you should develop some other friendships., especially as she is already planning her next trip.

I resisted whatsapp for a long time but it is really useful. Don't know why I was being stubborn.

It can be very expensive to send and receive messages in different countries. When my best friend went abroad, I didn't expect to hear from her nor did I send her chit chat as it cost me.
I wouldn't drop her as a friend, but widen your friendship group, as you suggested

You need to show her love before it’s too late. Keep your remaining friends close to you.
