I also say send it. I wonder if you've sent cards to your daughter and grandson, even though you've been estranged for almost a year. At least they know you're thinking of them and in that way you're keeping the channels of communication open.

I also think you should send it . Not spaghetti' s wording is perfect -
'Happy birthday, thinking of you' is just right. I do hope you are able to reconcile with your DD and SIL, it must be so distressing. Good luck. You have nothing to loose so post that card!
