Teeth extractions and immediate dentures

I recently had my remaining natural teeth removed ( 4 bottom and 3 top). The dentures I was fitted with are very loose. I rang to see if I could use an adhesive and was told it would be fine but to avoid the extraction sites. I previously had partial dentures which fitted very well.
I will be fitted with permanent set in 6 months time when gums have shrunk.
I would welcome advice from gransnetters on what to use, how to apply and how often.

DH says Wernets Powders but difficult to find.

Failing that Polygrip.

Reapply when adhesion is lost.

Apparently Polygrip do powder now. DH thinks powder 'settles' better.

Since having a full upper plate this year, I tried various fixatives, and after doing a bit of research in forums, settled on Poligrip powder. Not available on the high street, but bought a multipack from Amazon. It works much better than Fixodent, and is zinc-free too. Poligrip Max paste in the tube is also very good, and that is available in shops.

You should only need to apply once a day with the above, but trial and error needed to get best results.

I would agree about the powder. I found the adhesives left stringy bits in my mouth and an unpleasant taste. Make sure you rinse thoroughly after removing your dentures. False teeth take some getting used to but persevere, it does get better.
