Had bloods taken so will get a review with GP next week🤞🤞

the PA did try and get me an appt with female GP .. there are none till middle August 🤨 re groin pain

Ask the PA to give a message to duty GP - that does require investigation asap.

Yes, my appointment went fine, thanks Bea65 although the receptionist hadn't actually booked me in so I had to wait!

Bea65
I will PM you. It might take a little while!

"Wow, is this the dark web of Gransnet?" (Bea) Yes> A lot of tales are spun on Gransnet.

I am glad you are finally getting some help and hope you have reassuring answers soon.

Wow, is this the dark web of Gransnet?

Allira hope your appt went well 🤞🏻
I’ve got appt for blood work later re inflammation markers with nurse and follow up review of meds once results come back
…the PA did try and get me an appt with female GP .. there are none till middle August 🤨 re groin pain - she couldn’t offer any explanation re the totally frozen feeling on waking up and best to wait for blood work results …I did agree with her logic

There was only 1 person waiting in waiting room, but, the foot traffic to reception was long and almost out the door!
I overheard many people saying that they can’t get thru on the phone lines so had to come in person…and, interestingly, I didn’t hear the phones ringing off the hook ..maybe they were on mute…

Bea, the thread has unspun itself into two separate filaments.

* help with polymyalgia

* spitting at people as ethnic way to express hate or disapproval

Allira Tue 22-Jul-25 10:44:34

I'm going this afternoon as well - seeing a GP!! 😯 I hope to get some answers.
Good luck.

Bea65 Tue 22-Jul-25 07:17:27

What is all this spitting on thread?

ALLIRA trapped nerves possibly..

I’m going to request post op bloods to determine inflammation markers..just hope she’s empathetic agrees to this 🤞🏻

Allira Mon 21-Jul-25 20:12:25

Bea65

I see you're going to see a GP tomorrow - at last!!
Whether or not you'll have any answers is another matter.

It does sound as if it could be trapped nerves. Has that been investigated?

Caleo Mon 21-Jul-25 19:59:58

MT51, yes, 'we ' do know what spit contains. All excretions can carry diseases'

What happened to you in the waiting room looked as if it possibly was intended as a personal insult, and the security man was apparently useless at taking issue with the offender. You did well to not engage with the offender yourself.

crazyH Mon 21-Jul-25 19:59:39

Bea65 - your OP has moved on to ‘spitting*
Just to answer your question. Yes, I have body aches in the morning. My right side seems to go into spasm. And it takes a bit of slow manoeuvring, to get back to some sort of normality.
You’re not alone …

A woman who spat at a police officer and suggested she may have Covid-19 has been jailed for 20 weeks.

" realise then he was probably offended at my wearing of shorts & the phlegm was aimed at my feet."

ah now I see where you are coming from Your intuition was probably right if he spat at your feet.

A similar thing happened to me concerning a brown skinned schoolboy looked 'Asian' who spat immediately in front of my feet as I exited my drive with my dog. I was so offended I crossed the road rather than pass close to him.

Caleo I am offended by anyone who spits, we don’t know what that spit contains do we? Doesn’t matter who’s doing the spitting it’s gross 🤮

MT61, Spitting on the floor may have been a sign the man was unfamiliar with our culture.

It is often regarded as more hygienic to spit on the floor than to swallow sputum or spit it into a hanky and them put hanky in pocket.

Oh that’s ok then Caleo, spitting on a hospital floor- I realise then he was probably offended at my wearing of shorts & the phlegm was aimed at my feet. Not good.

I've been spat at just because I spoke with a British accent in a foreign country (not that far away, in fact!). It is most unpleasant because it's not just spit.

It's a vile habit.

Thanks dragonfly46. Bluebell could do with winding her neck a bit, before she reads the posts.

*I felt vulnerable because a was wearing shorts, albeit long knee length & sandals*

Oh for goodness sake Mt you’re upset because a man’s wearing shorts and sandals ( I agree the spittings not nice ) how have you got to old age without ever been near a man in shorts for goodness sake, change your seat if someone isn’t to your taste
I was the only white woman In the waiting room. So what !!
You thought you might have a blood clot but left because you were the only white woman in the area, a man sat near you in shorts and sandals, and someone gobbled on the floor Well you are very lucky you didn’t have a blood clot

Gosh read the posts properly please.

MT was wearing shorts and sandals not the man next to her. She thought maybe he was offended.

I tried statins but they gave me aches and pains so the pharmacist at our surgery prescribed non statins which will lower my cholesterol.

Mt61, It's normal to feel vulnerable when finding oneself dressed very differently from the people all around.

It's normal to feel vulnerable when one finds oneself too close to another who has what one considers dirty habits.

I was only suggesting to you how you might manage those situations without harming yourself. For instance if only you had known there were going to be all those foreign men you could have dressed even more modestly in self defence.

Mt61 Mon 21-Jul-25 13:07:23

Caleo

crazyH not "racist". That was over the top crazyH.

Some people are not accustomed to being surrounded by people who look different from themselves.

CrazyH. I didn’t see any Dr because he spat at my foot, so I left the hospital.

NB don't overdose on VitaminD

Caleo Mon 21-Jul-25 12:53:17

Diet and Nutrition
Evidence:

Anti-inflammatory diets (rich in omega-3s, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low in processed foods) may help reduce overall inflammation.

Some people with PMR report feeling better when avoiding gluten, dairy, or nightshades, though this is anecdotal.

Vitamin D deficiency is sometimes associated with musculoskeletal symptoms, and supplementation may be considered.

Bea65, I think I'd be complaining to my MP, if my GP lacked a call back facility like LouisaA describes
