I have used the same perfume 'Beautiful ' for many years but I think they must have changed the formula because the last bottle has lost both potency and staying power . Have you any suggestions for a similar floral perfume that isn't in the silly price category.

I had forgotten about Cabochard, I loved it

I did love Channel no 5, Cerutti,Red Door, and from the 60's
Evening in Paris, Midnight, pity they stopped making them.

I love perfume , but for a few years now...I'm 80yr..I can't smell it, neither on myself or anyone else,,,,I don't know if it's an age thing

For many years I used and loved CHLOE. My daughter bought me a bottle duty-free and the perfume has totally changed. Why?

I haven't worn perfume for many years now as I'm watching the pennies. However, after reading all the above comments I'm going to go mad and treat myself to some. This 83 year old will soon be getting admiring sniffs in the Co-op.

I love Cabochard and have worn it on and off since the sixties.

Liz Earle Botanical Essence no. 15. Although not cheap it lasts for ages. I just love the aroma. 👍

Hardly ever wear perfume. Went to a ‘do’ last week, put my bottle of ‘Libre’ on the bed ready to apply when I had got dressed.

Only when I was getting ready for bed at night did I realise I had never applied it!

Oh well…

hmm

My favourite perfume is Coco Chanel, wish I could find a duplicate as it has become quite pricey now.

Armani Rush and Paco Rabane's Olympia Blossom are both lovely floral perfumes.

I love Oud Attar, vegan and cruelty free, and smells amazing. 🥰

My dear mother, now gone, used to wear Estée Lauder Youth Dew. I smelt some when passing through the parfumerie section of our John Lewis and it was as if she was there. Hasn’t changed a bit. Lovely scent - though quite heavy.

Has anyone ever used Cabochard? It's the only perfume I've ever liked.

Deedaa Sat 23-Aug-25 20:30:59

I've just bought M&S Orange Blossom and Amber which reminds me very much of a Fragonard perfume I used to buy.

ExaltedWombat Sat 23-Aug-25 20:10:19

Just remember that when you feel a perfume ‘lasts’, it might be overpowering for those around you!

mabon2 Sat 23-Aug-25 20:08:20

I have given up on expensive perfumes. I buy the dupes because they are much cheaper and smell exactly the same . Ok they might not last as long on you but because they are so cheap you can spay frequently. I'll never go back to the big brands w
with the expensive and wasteful packaging.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I love the smell ofL'Occitane Cherry Blossom hand cream as a treat so I am thinking of giving the perfume a try.

I think that has happened to me also. I like soft expensive fragrances. Or not real expensive. I use Marc Jacobs Daisy. And I find Channel #5 is to strong for me now. I like subtle scents, but noticeable.

Glossier ‘You’ and ‘You Doux’ are both gorgeous.

ufix1 Sat 23-Aug-25 18:16:20

I agree with the M&S £10 perfumes there is a lot of choice and you can walk around with no pressure whilst you see if the smell suits you. I don't want to offend anyone in our GN community but my elderly neighbour wears Youth Dew and boy does it linger especially after a peck on the cheek. Good luck finding the right 'smell' for you.

A few months ago my godson gave me a hug and said ‘You look nice and smell nice too’. I was wearing Inis.

I love Estee Lauder 'Pleasures', I've used it for years and treated myself on my birthday this year.
Light floral scent.
