Window cleaning scrim

I walked passed a professional window cleaner today, cleaning large windows in a florist shop.
It was almost hypnotic! So quick and easy.. well, it was for him.
I asked his technique and he said cheap, thin washing up liquid in a bucket of water.
Apply to windows, take off with a squeegee thingy then a quick wipe with piece of scrim.
Certainly worked well with him and his team.
Does anyone else use this method? Do you think you could use an old thick Irish Linen type of tea towel instead?
I’ve tried all the sprays but they always leave loads of streaks.
Thanks 😊

FranP I used to use Method shower spray and it's good. But nothing comes close to white vinegar.
My shower screen is like new and it's fourteen years old. White vinegar is truly amazing. smile

Many years ago a professional window cleaner told me to use a bucket of water with a little ammonia added. Use a cloth to clean and then newspaper to dry. Works a treat. Only downside is the smell of ammonia as you add it to the water, but it doesn't last.

My mother used ammonia in water.

Better to use white vinegar....no dangerous chemicals. Better for the user and better for the environment.
It has many uses with great results.

My window cleaner uses water drop of washing up liquid,a wet thingy on handle then window wiper to get of the soapy water and dries with chami leather .

My mom used water with white vinegar, a cloth and dried the window with wad of newspaper.
