Time to turn the heating on?

We haven’t succumbed yet, but I’ve been putting the electric blanket on, and wearing my sheepskin house boots! Unusual for it to be so relatively chilly at this time in September.

I really dislike being hot. I still have a very, very thin cover on my bed and always sleep with the window open unless it’s very windy. I might swap that for a summer weight quilt soon. As for the heating, that won’t go on until Oct at the earliest and then only for a couple of hours a day unless it gets very cold.

Our heating is controlled by the clock and the thermostats so I never turn it on or off. I just leave it to get on with it.

Yes so do we, ours is a Hive controller. We can alter it using our phones we away so we don’t come back to a cold house.

You can do that on an ordinary CH controller, ours has a holiday setting where we can turn the heating off for a set number of days and it comes back on the day we return.

Ours is set at 20° so comes on when the temperature goes below that.

I had one of those too LaCrepescule. No longer! Today in central Scotland it's 9° but feels colder. The heating will be on later without a doubt

Me neither Grandmabatty. When I was married my husband was always telling me it was too hot. He still walks into my house and says it’s roasting (when it’s only 19C.) My house, my rules 😊

The temperature didn't rise above 11° here yesterday, so the heating was on for a couple of hours. I make no apology for it. I prefer to be warm.

Crikey no heating on here ( well I haven’t got any central heating anyway but not put anything on till late October at earliest) 🤣 but it’s still not cold although I did put a light jacket on yesterday as it was stormy on and off

Had to put it on yesterday for DD2 as she’s always cold. Later, I felt a bit chilled, so it was on again for an hour, whilst I soaked in a very hot bath.
