Book to read to 6year old boy?

I have lots of books but GS says they are too babyish now.
I'm looking for something to read at bedtime - short enough to read in one sitting and with pictures. He's not a confident reader himself so I'll be doing all the reading.

Mine are too old for it as well but they still hunt it out when they come. They can recite the whole book!

DS loved Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes and other such subversive books!

The Claude series by Alex T. Smith are very good and quite funny.
