I'm looking at a seasalt coat and have never bought from them before. Are they true to size but with room for winter Woolies or do they come up bigger/smaller. Any thoughts please appreciated.

I second the recommendation to look on eBay. On the Sea salt outlet shop the Plant Hunter coat is £79.99 brand new in many different colours and sizes so look there first. Just search for Seasalt plant hunter

Thanks for the tip and also to granny62. I've checked but can only find one size 12 petite but it's not a colour I'd choose. I will keep looking for any updates on that site though. Many thanks.

Take note of any reviews regarding sizes, I find most of their clothes are on the generous side.

Each individual item of clothing has a Size Guide just underneath the section where you choose which size you want. Click on “Size Guide “ and you will see the exact measurements of the garment in all the sizes. Very useful .

Just read the reviews. I occasionally buy from them and the reviews are pretty accurate. Some things come up big others small.

I find them generous but not overly. If you are on the edge of a size eg 14 sometimes 16, size 14 would fit fine.

EBay was where I bought mine….near half price and new.

I’ve ended up buying a size larger than I usually am in seasalt T shirts as I find they shrink.
I have a Seasalt coat though that is true to size so I guess it depends on what garment you buy and the fit you like too

This is the problem when you can't try clothes on. And always was With Mail Order.

Maybe AI will come up with an mobile app that you can scan over your body to compare sizes

See you on Dragons Den.

I like a fairly roomy coat to accommodate wearing thick jumpers underneath. I usually buy a size larger than my dress size, wherever I buy them from.
I find most of Seasalt garments true to size. I have a couple of their dresses.

Ive always found Seasalt clothing to be very generous size wise.

Lovely brand

I bought a raincoat and eventually finished up two sizes smaller, originally it was like a marquee!

Thanks gransnetters. After reading this thread I took a look at the Seasalt sale and bought a jacket. Well it was half price! Im not sure if you've saved me or cost me £75! hmm

I just replaced my Plant hunter with a smaller size from Vinted. My 28-28!is for sale on the site! As others have said, they are just right for winter layering.

I have lost a bit of weight, my Seasalt coat is drowning me , but I wore it with an extra thick cardigan this morning , it’s still big on me but so much more comfortable than a tight coat in winter ,
I would buy a size smaller if I got another

Eeek!

I have two Seasalt coats.
The Plant Hunter Parka comes up big for size.
I agree, to downsize is better.

Oh no, I just ordered one!

Will I look humongous in it?

Treebee Sun 30-Nov-25 19:07:06

I’m a 10/12 and I bought a Seasalt coat last year. The 10 fitted me best. Hope that helps.

kittylester Sun 30-Nov-25 17:49:05

I have the Plant Hunter coat too. I have had mine about 6 years - I wish it would die now.
