I'm looking at a seasalt coat and have never bought from them before. Are they true to size but with room for winter Woolies or do they come up bigger/smaller. Any thoughts please appreciated.

I think they are pretty true to size. But look at the reviews.

My experience - I’m a size 12 - is that they are fairly generous, especially the coats and jackets. Does their website have sizing info (measurements)?

I am entering my 3rd winter with my Seasalt coat, I bought my usual size and it is roomy, which I like for layering. I love this coat, it is warm and versatile. Think it was model 'Plant Hunter'

It does and I've asked because their 12 & 14 bust sizes are 43.5 & 45 5 inches respectively. Whereas eg M & S are 36 - 38 inches.

That's one I'm looking at as it's also in a petite size. Glad to hear your happy with it.

I bought a sea salt dress in size 12 because trying it on in the shop it was plenty big enough for my 14/16 body.

The first wash it shrunk to a 10/12. Would they refund me? Of course not. It was a 12 just like it said on the label.

No good to me🙁

Thank you. This is really helpful and looks like when opening the size chart for the garment that the measurements are for E.U. I'm unconfused now lol thank you to everyone for your help.

Before you buy it, have a look at their Ebay page, I bought mine on there and saved about £30. A few years ago, I had the coat I wanted but not in the colour I originally choose, but I love it. It's Sea salt page on ebay.

Size 12 is 36.5 inches and size 14 is 38.5 inches on The Seasalt chart ClicketyClick

I too have a Seasalt ‘Plant Hunter’ coat. I bought my usual size and it is roomy enough for a thick jumper underneath.
I have had a little difficulty with dresses being a tad snug across the bosom ,

I have the Plant Hunter coat too. I have had mine about 6 years - I wish it would die now.

I’m a 10/12 and I bought a Seasalt coat last year. The 10 fitted me best. Hope that helps.

Seasalt is one brand where I down size I usually have a 16 but order Seasalt garments in a 14

MartavTaurus Sun 30-Nov-25 19:13:34

I have two Seasalt coats.
The Plant Hunter Parka comes up big for size.
I agree, to downsize is better.

Lathyrus3 Sun 30-Nov-25 20:03:06

But never wash anything 😬

I have lost a bit of weight, my Seasalt coat is drowning me , but I wore it with an extra thick cardigan this morning , it’s still big on me but so much more comfortable than a tight coat in winter ,
I would buy a size smaller if I got another

Oh no, I just ordered one!

Will I look humongous in it?

I just replaced my Plant hunter with a smaller size from Vinted. My 28-28!is for sale on the site! As others have said, they are just right for winter layering.

Claretjan Sun 30-Nov-25 22:30:57

Thanks gransnetters. After reading this thread I took a look at the Seasalt sale and bought a jacket. Well it was half price! Im not sure if you've saved me or cost me £75! hmm

I bought a raincoat and eventually finished up two sizes smaller, originally it was like a marquee!

Ive always found Seasalt clothing to be very generous size wise.

Lovely brand
