Slippers etc

Widerfit shoes as already stated by someone else, but I recommend them for feet like mine - ( wide, bunions. gout. [plantar fascitis !)
I also love Fitflop . whose prices are much higher, but are extremely well made and very comfortable.

I suspect that the pains I have developed lately in my toes are caused by my having bought a pair of crocs for the first time, so obviously they do not suit all feet!

Ask the advice of either the shop that sold you your shoes, or of a remedial shoemaker.

if you are size 6 or above their men's slippers are robust and comfortable.
They have women's ones too of course.

Another vote for Pavers, with velcro fastening.

Mine came from M&S. Mocassin style and stay on your feet well.

Sketchers do a full slipper with a brilliant non- slip sole. Nice and wide around the toes as I suffer from Morton Neuroma in my left foot. Warm and comfortable.

I wear Mahabis. They are felt, and mould to your foot, and they have a rubber sole so you can go out to the bin or to hang out washing in them. There is a neoprene heel lock to stop them coming off, so they are safe on stairs, and I think they look good too. They come in a range of colours, but I have the purple ones.

Moshulu do loads of slippers but I don't like a fluffy inside so in the past I've gone for boat or deck shoes as slippers. Not the cheapest, but they're really good quality and roomy.

I have been there! Got the t/shirt!! As the saying goes. After all the expensive and experimenting with footwear for around the house nothing helped!
Then I bought on a whim a pair of Birkenstocks. My goodness what a relief no pain at last.
I use the orthotics for just my outdoor shoes.
No regrets. Not had a problem since.

PS I am 76 this month. So easy to wear.

I've Mephisto mules, lovely slippers.

I need arch support especially for much smaller right foot and find that cosy fit slipper sandals got double Velcro straps so keep them on feet ok . Get them only in the sale and have two pairs so wash one pair and wear the other from time to time . Works for me and wear thick or thin socks or none in hot summer just strap as tight as needed .

I have just bought a pair of men’s slippers from fatface ( in sale) and I can’t say how thrilled I am.
It took a long time to find a pair that fit comfortably snd didn’t slop about.

My GD gave me Uncle Bob’s slippers by Sketchers 3 years ago. Excellent. Highly recommend

What about Hotter? They have a wide choice and have a sale on at the moment. I've never tried their slippers but I have a couple of pairs of boots which are very comfortable with non slip soles.

I’ve got these from widefittingslippers.com. They open up to almost flat and have room for inserts. The heel can be tightened up at the back, with Velcro, as well as the straps on the main part of the slipper.

Has anyone any recommendations for a pair of slippers with plenty of toe room but which don't slip off at the heel please?
(Ditto trainers or walking boots)
I have to wear orthotics for plantar fasciitis so need something I can close tightly, if that makes sense.
My current pair which I got in market about 10 years ago just about do the job but are a bit too "pointy" in the toe and the velcro's not really in the right place to do them up tightly enough to not slip off when I am walking around the house, which is especially worrying on the stairs.
I'm fine in the warmer weather wearing "anatomically correct" flip flops but I need something I can wear my thick socks in and put on/take off in a hurry.

Sketchers for everything. I have a pair of slippers I bought 2 years ago, with the same thick sole as their trainers but it has a material cuff around the top, I often run to Tesco in the car with them on for a few things. They are brilliant for winters.

I always viewed crocs as an affront to good taste.
That was until I broke my toe and they were the only footwear I could tolerate.

I have to have a wide toe box due to a mortons neuroma. For slippers I either wear crocs or some from Moshulu online, if you want 'proper' slippers. For outside I wear sketchers hyper pillar trainers. Very soft underneath and well shaped for support. They also have a roomy, soft toe box.

Won't they remove it for you?
I had one done when I was in my 40s.

Mr C wears lightweight Skechers slip on summer shoes, with added orthotics, for slippers. Keeps plantar fasciitis reasonably comfortable and are simple to put on.

Sketchers Bob slippers for men and women are the comfiest things ever.Wide toe box,grippy soles and they last for years.Check out M&M for a great price.

I am wearing a pair of recently purchased Pavers. A proper slipper with a firm back. with most slippers I've previous bought, the backs go soft quickly and crumple down. These weren't cheap but they're cosy and a good fit.
