I really can’t stand Nigella so we shall if I still watch after the first episode šŸ¤” what about you?

LaTroisette Wed 28-Jan-26 14:20:30

I stopped watching because of Pru Leith. I prefer Nigella Lawson.

I have to pick up on two of your comments, and I like Nigella so often watch her re-runs, however I can honestly say I have never seen her ā€œtossing her untied hair backā€ or cooking in a ā€œneat black jacketā€ she usually has a dress on..

Oh, might give it a watch now.

Don’t like Prue Leith (mostly because of her awful son, which I know is very unfair but there we are).

I don't think she likes him much either! She gets on much better with her adopted daughter.

Its not something I usually watch, but personally I like Nigella and watch her shows..So I’ll probably give bake off a watch when shes on..

I like Nigella, I have used a fair few of her recipes over the years.

I prefer to watch something before deciding on whether or not it works for me.

Quite GG.

Love Nigella but can't imagine her on Bake Off. She's never professed to being a baker and you would think you'd need that for this programme. I love her free and easy style of cooking and can't imagine her being suited to this format. Good luck to her and hope she can ignore all the coverage from the hacks.

I quite like Nigella,

This'll be the beginning of the end for Bake Off. I gave up on it when irritating Alison Hammond joined.

I've always liked Nigella, I have a couple of her books. I think I first saw her as a guest on an early Nigel Slater cooking programme.

I think I can forgive anyone who is honest enough to admit during the course of an unhappy love affair in her younger years, told her viewers, that she'd baked a really chocaholic cake, came home after a particularly miserable evening with the then source of her unhappiness and scoffed the lot in one sitting grin

Can't stand Nigella.. all that pouting and sighing.. so fake.
I won't be watching Bake Off in future.

It’s not fake, that’s exactly how she is.

I don't watch it anymore but I like Nigella - she always has a twinkle in her eye, she knows full well what she's doing when she pouts at the camera and it usually make us laugh.

We both enjoy some of her recipes. I have all her books, and have even read them unlike some of my cook books that are as dry as dust.

I expect a good few more men will begin watching the show!

I use a lot of Nigella recipes because; they usually work; they do not often involve ingredients not in my store cupboard and are not over complicated.

I too remember when she was married to John Diamond and anlways enjoyed his writing.

I imagine it will descend to insufferable innuendo between her and Paul Hollywood. I don’t enjoy Nigella’s TV cooking programmes, mainly because she keeps tossing her untied hair back and I still wince at the ire of my school Domestic Science mistress if a pupil’s stray hair fluttered anywhere near the work bench. She’s fun otherwise, I just can’t see the personalities complement each other.

And how does she bake wearing a neat black jacket and no apron, without getting flour all over it?

Ah well, I haven’t followed GBBO since Mel and Sue left, I hope its fans enjoy the change.

Yes. Lots of spoons being licked suggestively. I will give her a chance as I enjoy the programme.

So you tie your own hair back? I don’t and I don’t wear an apron often either.

Works for me

Me too I def prefer her to Pru.

I like Nigella, I think she will be good, although I don’t think I’ve seen her decorate a cake.

Sad to see Prue go, but looking forward to Nigella.

I don’t really watch Bake Off especially as I can’t stand Prue Leith ( I saw some of her cookery programme on Sunday; can’t warm to her at all). But I’ll give it a go with Nigella. I still look back to the days when she was married to John Diamond.

Galaxy Mon 26-Jan-26 19:30:46

Is she? I like her

petra Mon 26-Jan-26 19:08:37

Love Nigella and I don’t cook. šŸ˜‚
