Printmiss was even older than me so I think we can expect that posters will disappear.
Jingle died I remember after an operation, THR I think.
People do remember her with affection but she was very caustic and could be nasty ,she once told me to FO when I defended another poster from her nastiness.
I still miss Frank with his London Pension.

GrannyActivist still posts occasionally, I think.

I still think of printmiss on the first of the month but can't for the life of me remember what she said.

Of course we are missing the lovely phoenix but I still have the curse - written for our Idiot.

And, jingle was just jingle.

Some posters leave for a while and rejoin under different names I know of 3 who have done that . I know one was because she was being bullied by a poster who was banned but worked her way back on and banned again .

I got suspended for a week couple of years ago my crime I fought back against a poster who was hurting someone else ..But GNHQ sided with her but she got banned in the end .

Another poster who disappeared was grannyactivist.
Does anyone know why?

I spoke to MissAdventure a couple of weeks ago. She can still crack a joke despite being unwell.

She is also missed on here. Like others have said, when it comes to certain posters, we may not always agree on every subject, but surely as adults we can agree to disagree without resorting to insults or abuse.

GSM was a real asset to gransnet. Intelligent, strong views, very kind and always willing to share good legal advice. IMO there was a concerted effort to get her banned - why? Surely we ought to be able to disagree strongly at times without being deliberately nasty under the invisibility cloak

Not so long ago we had a poster on GN, Bijou who reached 100 and there was a thread where many of us congratulated her, sadly haven't see any posts from her lately. Another nice older poster, Printmiss, also disappeared a while ago.

I echo other posters such a shame not to see GSM or Ellan Vannin, I think we should perhaps remember the old adage "you can agree with all of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time" GN is a microchosam of life generally to be expected a range of views on just about everything.

We did disagree sometimes but I was always happy to hear her point of view - always reasoned.

I know she was very helpful with actual facts, and very generous.

I miss JessM and GrannyKnot. I guess those of us who have been here from the beginning are not so numerous now.

I miss Gillybob and her Friday Girl cartoon each week. I hope she is well.

There should be a petition mechanism for banned posters who are missed by the vast majority of us. I'd certainly sign up to get GSM back posting.

Personal appreciation should trump impersonal "one report too many" alogrithms on this sort of forum.
