As I wrote under the carpet hoover I would very much appreciate recommendations for a carpet cleaner

Just google top five carpet cleaners.
I bought a spot cleaner (bissel) to remove some marks off my sofa.
Kind of wished now that I had bought an upright with hose & tools now that have made room in my cupboard.

We’ve had an upright Bissell carpet cleaner for years. It has dealt with red wine and black coffee spills as well as freshening rooms effectively, it is however both heavy and noisy. There are many types out there. I’ll be looking at reviews and checking the weight when we need to replace ours.

We have a Vax carpet washer, it's very heavy, but obviously the water tank will make any model heavy. It does a really good job and the scented detergent leaves the carpets looking like new and smelling lovely and fresh. The dirty water is a bit of a shock, proof that carpets really do need a regular wash!

We have a vax too.cleans carpets very well, also has attachments for furniture and stairs, carpets are dry in no time.

I hired a Rug Doctor cleaner for a sofa bed I got via Gumtree. It worked really well and I would use that again.

Another vax fan here. The upright cleaner is very easy to use and does a great job. Has a hose attachment for sofas and stairs. Detergent cleaner is quite expensive but works really well.

My VAX does a darn good job with any of the VAX detergents - I find the bog standard basic stuff (£10 for 1.5 litres) works just as well as the more expensive types in the VAX range.

But even with the water tank emptied it's still a pretty heavy machine. And, yes, the colour of the water when finished is a bit of a revelation!
