Thinking of you, LaCrepescule. It’s a very hard path to walk. I hope there’s a sunny ending for you both. flowers

She just wants to get on with her normal life and doesn’t want me at the appointment because she doesn’t want to make it “more important than it is.”
So proud of her. The GP was pretty awful, didn’t even tell her she was being fast-tracked and she only found out from the paperwork.
She’s already had a telephone triage appointment with a specialist nurse who took the full history and said she felt absolutely reassured but I know only a scan can confirm the diagnosis.

Hand held out. I would feel the same xx.
Know that many people are on that pathway and it can be precautionary. I can only say I've been on the cancer pathway probably like many GN's and their family, and it has turned out to be benign - like a cyst or swollen lymph node.

But of course it does have to be checked.

flowers for your waitings

If it’s of any comfort, my DH has been referred three times in the last 18 months on the cancer pathway, each time false alarm.

Sometimes it’s used to fastrack a diagnosis.

Many many lumps are benign.

It’s such a horrible time for you all, but at least your DH will get answers and quickly.

Deep breaths and I’m 🙏🙏🙏 for your DD thanks

Plenty of handholds here LaCrepescule.
Place you have supportive friends- make use of them . No good me telling you not to worry because of course you will!
However people on GN care and send you strength. Thinking about you and your precious daughter. 💐💐

I'm sure we'd all be the same in your shoes, it's bound to be a very worrying time for you all. At least it is being investigated, and hopefully everything will be fine. flowers

You probably feel a bit better for posting here and lots of replies will follow. I have not been in a similar position to yours but here's a hand to hold till some more experienced people get here.

My precious only child, 26, has been referred on the suspected cancer pathway for a long-standing neck lump and has an ultrasound scan next week. The results will take a while to come back. I’m trying to hold things together for her sake but am catasrophising and my anxiety levels are sky high.
She lives an hour away with her lovely flatmate and is much calmer than me!
I’m keeping busy but it all seems a bit unreal. My friends are being really supportive but I don’t want to talk to them about it anymore, lest it becomes boring. Just looking for a handhold really.
